I like the story, but I have only one question... How does Snape know how to knit? I really can't see him as the type to attend handicraft lessons, or something... Though, it is a practical skill, so he might have picked it up somewhere... Or maybe it's just a Snape thing, the Snape family crest being two crossed knitting needles! Or...maybe not...

But I think I'll have to put that down to general mysterious Snapeiness, and other then that minor detail, I love the story! I especially like the way the knitting helps Harry to Occlude...That's such a cool idea!

Man. I'm getting into your stuff lately! It seems like anything I've read over the past few days that has any value has been yours.

It's odd to think of Snape being able to knit, and that more than anything else is the one jarring note in this story. Of course, it's a practical skill, and Snape is nothing if not practical - but at the same time, it's hard to figure when he might have learned... in school? After? It's difficult to imagine Snape deciding to pick up a handicraft, is the problem...

All the same, the good writing really does make up for this. You have a flow when you're really on your game, and it's present here, building an almost tactile - ha ha, no pun intended, honest - atmosphere. You've managed to weave sight, sound and physical sensation into your story, and that's what really sets it apart from others I've seen, what really makes it real.

Harry's decision to stay is characteristic, sweet, and speaks volumes. Well-done all around.

That was written quite well. I like the offbeat style of how it's not written using past tense like most stories are. Saying "Is" instead of "are" etc. The entire story leaves me with so many questions, like, how old is Harry and how are he and Snape connected? I can't picture Snape pulling him onto his lap unless he was somewhat younger and they were closer. How long have they been stuck and why doesn't Snape conjure up a fire to keep them warm? Perhaps he did and I missed it, but it seemed like Harry was too cold for their to not be a fire. Anyway, it was a really well written fic. Good job!

What an interesting, unique little story. Unbelievably, I can imagine Snape knitting to quiet his mind--and I can actually see it working for Harry. And the feel of the piece was very evocative, also.

Wow. I would have never pictured the use of repetitiv knitting stiches as a means of blocking. But you have done a most excellent job!
