Reviews For A Year Like None Other
i loved it when snape decked aren - i found it such a movie thing, kinda cliche, and it made me laugh i love severitus fics and yours is one of my favourites it took me a while to find, but i now have it on my computer courtesey of ecac1 - so thank you! the charactersare portrayed wonderfully too - though some of snapes vocabulary does flummox me!
But, this, this one is just plain magnificent. *This* is my sixth book. I don't even know where to begin with how wonderful this is. It is so believable, so well-written and I have read it straight through at least four times. The whole thing is just so well thought out and so deftly done. Harry's thoughts and feelings are delved into and shown brilliantly. No detail is omitted and I found myself, in later chapters, quite a few times, saying to myself 'oh, *that's* where that was leading to'. The whole thing is filled with so many amazing lines and moments that I can't even begin to name them all. But, at the end of Chapter Eight:"Even" with the little exchange between Harry and Snape that ends with Snape saying "Somebody was around", my breath literally caught. For some reason, to me, that line was beautiful and was when I first realized that this story was going to be amazing. I'm not really a Draco fan, but the whole gradually building trust and realtionship between him and Harry was just so right. Of course, the story is the relationship between Snape and Harry. I don't know what else to say about it except it's perfection. I only wish that this is what Rowling could have given us in her books. Just, *so* well done. It's a joy to read. Author's Response: It's very good to hear that you enjoyed it so much! I don't know if you'll check back and see this, but I wanted to let you know that this story has a couple of sequels -- one finished, one still in progress. If you Google for "A Summer Like None Other Aspen in the Sunlight" you can find a link to skyehawke, where the sequels are. You might not like the Summer one, though -- it's very Dracocentric. The next story in the series, "A Family Like None Other" returns to a Harry POV. Aspen
but your link to view the art: http://aylnoartwork.havenofdreams.com/ is one of those websites that is almost impossible to find ANYTHING in. I searched for 30 minutes and found zero art related to this story. Author's Response: Sorry you had trouble -- the redirect page there keeps getting taken down. If you want to see the art, it's at a new location now: http://www.aylno.dreamingillusions.net/index2.html I promise it's easy there to find the art for the story! Aspen
This is possibly the best HP fic I've ever seen. Keep writing such brilliant, engaging stuff.
