Snape has a lot on his plate.
Harry should give him a lexicon of Muggle synonyms and daily expressions, not just wave away the 'changing gears' and say 'whatever.' They all three need help to understand their un-common backgrounds.. Did Snape's father draw the family crest or insigna?

I Love and adore this story.. have been reading this for three days...the family rather tired of rodrunnerly-quick meals. Aspen, please write more one-shots in this universe. 'Tis utterly, completely addictive.
I know that I'm over ten years late to the party, but I just finished reading this and A Summer Like None Other. I could hardly put it down the whole time I was reading it. This is one of the best HP fics I've ever read. I really like the events of Half Blood Prince, but I love that it wasn't used in this story, because it makes this story so refreshingly different from other fics.
Wow! What a great final line for the chapter! Never saw that one coming! (Or not here, at any rate!)
" ' But to stay in the dungeons, with you?...No offense, all right, but look at you! You'll make him pee his pants, Professor'... Snape's soft laugh sounded wickedly amused..." This is one of the funniest images you've written. There used to be a cartoon where someone had drawn Snape with horns, and he approvingly catches sight of himself in a mirror, gloating, "This will terrify the first years!" If you can still find something called "The Naked Snape Awards," it's in there. (Good luck finding it; I haven't seen it in years, alas.)
This is one of my favorite chapters in the entire AYLNO series. I love all the things you do to set things right between the two of them here. So loving, so excellent!
I've lost sight of the number of times I've read this great story through the years. I enjoy it every time.
