Ugh, the rating system on this site is seriously flawed if a story like this is getting the same number of chocolate frogs as AYLNO.
Or maybe it's not the rating system, but rather the audience's lack of discernment.
The mark of a good, caring author is the attempt at plausibly explaining some inconsistencies. You say you "need" things to be a certain way but make no effort to justify the changes beyond your self-absorbtion. Do you serve yourself or the story? What does the *story* "need"?

I'm glad you realize all those things that are "wrong" with your story. Other than that, and yes, I will keep reading, I am enjoying it.
