Author's Response: Hi Vint, Just my personal opinion and preference about things, and I'm sure that there are plenty out there who would dispute it, but I think that Snape would have the authority to handle his Slytherins as he saw fit, as long as it wasn't cruel or excessive. So I could see him spanking one of them for major rudeness or something serious such as trying to take on a troll. As for those not in his house, I see it as any teacher had the right to correct a child, not just Snape. They each might use differnt techniques on different students according to different offenses, but to me McGonagall had as much authoirty to spank say Draco or any other student as Snape did. But most of all, when it comes right down to it, it's all just fanfic, lol. It's just the way I pictured things and wanted things to happen. Your question/observation made sense and I'm hoping my answer did, lol. I'm very glad you are enjoying the story and thank you for reading and reviewing...in two places even! :D The next chapter should be up soon. Fox

Author's Response: Well, poor Harry in one sense, but not so much in another. He's finding out he might be accountable to someone now. Someone that might care about him a little bit. Great chapter! I'm anxiously awaiting more :) Author's Response: Hi Jade, Thank you so very much for the wonderful review. I love trying to get the picture in my mind into print, so I'm glad that the descriptions work for you and that you like them. I've always loved reading and writing details, though now I find myself writing a lot more dialogue than I used to. It depends on where the characters want to take me as a good bit of the time I'm just along for the ride and trying to type fast enough to keep up! And yes, Snape is beginning to care, though he's still plenty hesitant. At least he finally took the first step. Yay! You caught what I was trying to do with the boys' punishment. Pretty much the same thing for the same 'crime'. I agree, Snape is fair. Stern as all get out, but fair. :) I'm almost done with the next chapter so hopefully not much longer to wait.
