:D I really love this fic! And thanks for not buying into the (fanon, not cannon) assumption that Sev was had a faithful mam, but an abusive dad. All we really know is that when he was 9 yrs old, his parents argued and that his dad wasn't an I-love-the-whole-world kinda guy. ;)

I like Severus' father in this story; he's not perfect, but he seems like a decent guy.

This is really a good chapter, with lots of shrewd character development. Only one disappointment: we don't get a description of Tobias.
And I saw only one obvious typo: 'the three occupants of the house remained quite' (quiet)

I think Harry has all the reasons to be upset with the situation and he is right in wishing to be part of the conversation about it. After all, which teenager would stay put when finding out that everything he believed about his family was a lie?
And I think Dumbledore's reasoning about Harry being with blood relatives is faulty, since the primary reason for that should have been Lily's sacrifice, hence Harry staying with her relatives. But there shouldn't have any kind of blood protection with the Snapes.

I really, really like this different sort of character, the Muggle middle aged man being brought in. I really like the dynamics as well. I can tell that this is going to be an intersting chapter. :) There were some places where the grammer, punctuation was not quite right. You should probably go back over it and add in more commas, or restructure some paragraphs. Especially the first and third ones. Nice start to the story so far! :)
Great story so far. Tobias sounds kinda harsh but yet it was very nice of him to tuck Harry in. I'm curious to how Harry will look after his appearance changes. Please write more soon! :)
