WOW! I was soooo not expecting that! I don't know how I feel about her coming back... there's probably drama ahead! Whoo!
Lovely camping scene! Aw, and poor Severus got sick. One thing: A half a mile is nothing. I used to sprint a half mile in under 2 minutes. Of course that was on a track in a race but... you might want to make it longer. Especially since they were supposed to end up back home late evening. Two miles would probably be a better distance for the family to go to to go camping (maybe a little less). But under four miles definitely. Four is probably too far away for ten year olds to walk.
Very interesting. I wasn't expecting "Mum" to show up; wonder how she'll change the family dynamic. Looking forward to more!
