Very well done! Both Harry and Snape are kept in character throughout the story, but we still see that caring side of Snape we've come to love in fanfiction. As much as I love the caring, concerned father/guardian/mentor Snape, it's unrealistic to assume that he'd be able to easily jump into the role. It's true that just because we haven't seen this caring Snape in cannon, doesn't mean that he doesn't have a softer side, but the way you portrayed him strikes me as far more believable. He's still being a git and comes across as cruel, but he is actually helping Harry by using a little tough love. Again, very well written! I absolutely loved it!
Excellent job with the portrayal of Snape. I love how you showed just a glimpse of humanity, and yet kept him completely in character. I found it very believable, and yet touching at the same time. I'm very impressed!
OOo. THIS is a Snape reaction. LOVE this. I was really irritated until the last bit when I realized what Snape was doing . . . I can't believe I didn't realize! Perfect!

I'm really impressed by this story. I did not expect the ending at all, which is what is so great about it and so very characteristic of Snape. The last line gave me chills :) Awesome job! Please, please, please write more!!

ooh... loved that. brought one of those sloooowww grins to my face. ya know like on movies when somebody's mouth slowly quirks into a grin and then the credits start rolling? your story inspired one.
