Lovely, intense chapter. You have created such a set of flawed, but hopeful characters. I especially liked this line: "A long pause follows this outburst. “You know, Snape,” Harry finally volunteers, “you are kind of more messed up than I thought.”" It shows so clearly how far Snape and Harry have come and how much they BOTH need each other. I don't think I have read many stories where each of the two are as messed up as these are, but I'm glad that they have each other now.

That was a great chapter.
I'm actually speechless. I was struck dumb when I saw you had updated, and now after reading, I'm completely stunned. Do you know how brilliant this is? I can hardly pick out my favorite scenes, because the entire chapter was so good. You describe things in a unique way that I've never seen done before. For example, when you described the secrets swirling around in the penseive like dogs. That was perfect. How do you come up with this stuff?!
Your Snape is also perfect. I really wasn't expecting the slap, but that is SO like something Snape would have done. You've just really pegged his character--the darker side that we like to deny even existed. He wasn't a good man, and your story highlights that; however, Snape has these tiny moments of compassion that give us hope. The very end of this chapter was breathtaking.
Oh, and I definitely teared up during the scene where little Harry was sitting on his aunt and uncle's bed with the gun. I've never read a scene like that before. It made my stomach twist into knots.
I just don't know what else to say--this is spectacular. Thank you so much for updating. Write again when you are able! :)

This was a terrific chapter. I'm so glad you're back. You're writing one of my all time favorite stories and I've missed it. Welcome back! I love how Snape reacted when he saw Potter with the girl again. Very Snapish, to be sure. Then Harry's memory. Wow. That was powerful. Very well written. And Snape hitting Harry like that, again, very much Snape the way I see him. I'm glad he talked about it after and told Harry it wouldn't happen again. I don't blame Harry for not being able to believe him, though. So sad. And that bit about Harry's hands? I loved that! Very cool idea. Come back soon!

I just really love it. It's one of my favorites. This chapter was very good, and I love long chapters. Harry's secret surprised me though, made me sad. You are very tallented, this is a beautiful story. PLEASE post again soon!
Wow. That was an excellent chapter. I really loved all the emotion in it, especially the sad part about young Harry almost pulling the trigger. This is such a great story and I am eagerly awaiting the next chapter!

First of all, that memory was SOOOOOO SAD! I never expected that Harry would pull a gun! And at seven too!
We just recently had a suicide in our family, so that really hit home. But it made reading it better too, because I could feel for Snape, Ron and Hermione's panic.
I loved the fact that Snape was jealous of Harry and Ginny.
