This entire chapter was amazing. The whole story is, but this chapter was just so unutterably necessary. And what's so necessary about it is that it doesn't resolve them, it doesn't fix them, it just takes them incrementally closer to not-insane. It's wonderful. Every line in here was so perfectly pitched and restrained. Sometimes I read things and I'm envious I didn't write something that good; sometimes I read things and I'm terribly grateful I got to read them, and that's how I'm feeling right now, just grateful I got to read something that affected me so much and was so damn good.

rereading this before i read your new chapter, and just wanted to say again that this is an amazing chapter. so much character & relationship development - packed into one scene. intense!
Had to go re-read this. I have forgotten what was happening, lol. I think I cried a little the first time I read it, I managed to keep my composure this time. (clapps) Good chappie, I gotta go read the next now! (although I should be in bed, lol. It's midnight!)Great story. The emotions are shown so well in your writing and you don't have to use a lot of words. I can feel what the characters are feeling, the angst actually makes my heart hurt! It's brilliant and congrats with the featured story award. I voted for you, glad you ot it!

Oh, what a wonderful chapter! Made me weep, with Severus'--with THEIR--breakthrough. Slowly, painfully, however clumsily it may happen, it's wonderful to see it. Thank you.
I love how this story is so deep psycologically. (is that how it's spelled?), and how every decision made really affects the characters and how they feel and react. this may sound like something trivial, but to see it so well done as in this fic is something i feel is rare.

They are such broken men and your story is so poignant. Dumbledore needs to be hung, shot, quartered and scattered for the birds.

Definitely worth the wait. This is a very emotional story; difficult, sometimes, to read—but incredible in spite of that. Keep it up.
On a side note: I'd prefer a little less on the Umbridge front, but then, I loath even reading her stinking, evil, perverted, sick *name*...
