The wands backfiring was a surprise and not just for our heroes. Looking forward to finding out why that happened.
Good for Harry. I'm glad he got Snape to admit that he wished that Lily had tried to stop him from becoming a Death Eater. I did notice that you had used present tense in this chapter but it read smoothly so I think you made the right choice.
Harry and Snape seem to be slowly starting to cooperate with each other. It is grudging and by fits and starts but it is a beginning.
It sounds like Snape may have learned more than he wanted. I wonder of the room will retaliate for Severus' trick with the water?
Well, they did need to battle it out. Dumbledore gave them the right place and circumstances to do it in.
So Snape is in the memory with Harry this time? Interesting.
Wow. I would have thought that Dumbledore would have at least provided food if he was going to imprison Harry and Snape together. Looking forward to the next chapter.

This entire chapter was amazing. The whole story is, but this chapter was just so unutterably necessary. And what's so necessary about it is that it doesn't resolve them, it doesn't fix them, it just takes them incrementally closer to not-insane. It's wonderful. Every line in here was so perfectly pitched and restrained. Sometimes I read things and I'm envious I didn't write something that good; sometimes I read things and I'm terribly grateful I got to read them, and that's how I'm feeling right now, just grateful I got to read something that affected me so much and was so damn good.
