Lovely. The entire last paragraph was done well. I think you have a missing word though: "Severus Snape closed his eyes for (the) last time."
Good job! This was a good one-shot. I enjoyed hearing things from Snape's perspective. Harry did seem a little out of character, too understanding, how he rationalized that Snape was good because Dumbledore wasn't wrong about people. I felt like it needed a little more to make it truly in character, something else that changes Harry's mind.
I wonder if we'll find out in canon that Lily really was Snape's best friend. It seems so wild, but who knows. It certainly would make more sense that that would be Snape's worst memory if it's when he lost Lily. You're making me think. :) Thanks for sharing the fic!
