I really love how you hint at things through dialogue and through small actions, and like things through Harry's reluctance to have a bath. I've read some fanfictions where the authors are so sure that we can't add the dots together on our own, and so make sure to point out every little detail, either when it's happening or right at the end, so I can't tell you how happy I am that you're just letting us build up our own little picture at the end. You haven't even told us all of the Dursley's memories, which (aside from the fact that there'd be like 10 pages worth of memories for each of them) is nice. I always like to imagine some things myself, in stories XD
"Maybe he wasn't really a wizard. Maybe his new father wouldn't want him, if he couldn't do the magic on purpose. If he couldn't, he'd have to make sure his father never found out then." Harry: you are so gorgeous and cute and I would swoop down on you and give you lots of fat hugs and kisses and squeezes if I didn't know you'd flinch away. And possibly also for fear of my life, because Snape is starting to become veeeery protective of the Snape family's newest, littlest member XD
PATERNAL!-Snape is always my favourite XD My love for Snape is intensified in light of the punishment he dishes out for the Dursleys. Still no love for them, though XD
Yes, who are you kidding, Snapey? Certainly not anyone who's reading this story XD CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT? THE PEACE THE EVENING BRINGS? XD
I love the sound of his robes XD It reminds me of this picture I saw on the internet, just after HBP was released, of an old hippy riding a bicycle through London. It had the caption "Dumbledore LIVES!" and the old man had this really awesome rainbow tye-dyed tee-shirt. Yeah. Awesome XD I heart Snape/Harry love. And this story is full of Snape/Harry love. Therefore I LOVE THIS STORY XD
Major LOL! factor there XD I like how he's all like, Yeah! Let's mould this little kid in my image! but goddammit if there isn't this little picture of Lily in my head, wagging her finger at me. On Harry's flinch-reflex: I like how this doesn't just suddenly go away - these things take time, you know, and with Snape it might take just a little bit longer than usual XD
You LIAR XD. Anyways, Snape really does need to get used to the idea of having Harry around, doesn't he ... what with pulling Harry out from under the bed and needlessly terrifying him and all that. NOT GOOD INTERPERSONAL SKILLS, SNAPEY. No no no XD
Oh Snapey - you've just talked yourself into the corner, right there XD And Dumbledore! You are so Slytherin, you sneaky old codger you! (to steal the phrase XD) That's it Dumbledore - manipulate him XD It's for his own good, anyway C:
"A thrill of fear went through the boy, but he knew better than to drink things offered to him when he'd been bad. Last time Aunt Petunia had told him to "drink up," and had given him something yellow that smelt of lemons, it had burned his throat and his stomach. He'd been sick for days, and not allowed in the house." One of many perfect lines in a perfect story. Harry's treatment at the hands of his relatives is so ... enraging X( I have no love for them. D:
Me and my cat (who is sitting here reading this too) have a lot of love for this story. Well, except for my cat, who can't read XD |
