Excellent chapter... frustratingly short... I'll be eagerly waiting for more!
I love Snape's rage in this. Very well done. Dumbledore seems in character. :)
"Harry bit his lip and guessed he was a house elf for Master Snape now, too." Oh! Harry thinks he's a house elf! The poor boy! And he likes the idea. Oh, poor child. "Who were these watchers? Severus wondered. And how many of them could he strangle before he was sent to Azkaban?" LOL!
I just really noticed this paragraph clearly, I didn't the first time: "He has just turned seven, Severus, yes." In truth, Severus knew exactly how old the Potter boy was, could calculate it down to the hour if need be. He'd had to, in the maddening months between his one short encounter with Lily and her subsequent whirlwind marriage to that idiot, James. But no matter how he counted or calculated, the numbers always came up the same. The whelp was James', not his. Hmmm.... :) Author's Response: Hmmm.... Hmmmm, indeed. :-) I meant for that part to be deliberate foreshadowing of one kind, and along with Dumbledore's vague-ish statement at the end of chapter 7, things could go either way. Thanks for reviewing! --Rachel
Vernon is so nasty. I hope he gets what's coming to him. Author's Response: HI Jan! The issue over unclipping the leash will be dealt with a bit later, and yeah, I have plans for Dursley. Very special plans. Thanks for reviewing!
