Does Severus really think Harry hates him or that it was just a fit? The last scene was greta, thanks for another chapter.

I just snorted out loud . . .
"Okay. You can't say 'arrogant' anymore, then."
Severus added it to the list. "Neither of us can. Also, no 'whatever,' 'freak,' or," he shuddered, "'dunno.' Despicable word, that."
I like how you are not having Harry recover quickly from what he's been through. I have read stories where it's as though the writer is saying "hey, it's been a few days, he's dealt with it and is over it now."
Good job showing the stalled momentum and fallbacks in his recovery.
Did someone do this for Snape, or did he have to figure all this out for himself. It was nice to have the slightly humourous exchanges at the end to lighten the pathos of the beginning. And it also shows that Harry really is becoming comfortable with Snape.
It's not often that I'm struck speechless by fics, but OMG I think yours may be one of them. I've read quite a few fics like this before, but none of the authors have handled such a serious and delicate subject matter like this with as much finesse as you've done. Seriously, two thumbs up. Very well done. I cannot wait to read the next chapter - please update soon!

Two minor corection: you've spelled "time" as "tine" near the beginning of the story, and "can't" as "can" near the end.
Aside from those very minor considerations, however, I am enjoying your story immensely. This chapter in particular was very moving---Harry begging Snape to hit him was very painful, but it felt quite right, for someone in his position. I look very much forward to future installments.

That last was sweet, and kinda funny. You handled a serious situation with appropriate care and neither too much subtety nor overdoing sympathy. It also got Harry working With Snape, on something that they could find some very much needed humour in!!
I think I held my breath through the first half of this chapter. That was intense. And when reading the second half, it felt like someone was squeezing my heart. BUT, the last part of this story made me smile...especially.."Oh, I dunno...I kinda like it." That actually made me laugh outloud. Who knew that one chapter could make a person feel so many emotions? lol. That's a credit to you. I love Harry and Snape so much in this story. I guess they're just...real. If that makes sense...
Incredibly, superbly, excellent chapter. Forgive the abundance of adverbs, but I thought you desevered them. lol ;).
Author's Response: Thanks! Adverbs are fun! The chapter was hard to write, I admit; I often feel the emotional roller coaster I send my characters on. It's what made me a lousy therapist: too much damned empathy. And thanks for the nomination for Featured Story, too! New chapter tomorrow. Probably.
