Reviews For Walk the Shadows
It is wonderful to see Severus has changed his attitude towards Harry, and that he has realized and is starting to get through to Harry about the Dark Lord's evil... yes, after torturing and raping Harry to break him, now he pretends to be a friend, tries to turn him away from the very one who acted to save him. I hope that Harry is recovered and pragmatic enough to believe Severus now, and to learn the Occlumancy he should have learned the previous year at school! Granted it was only due to curiousity - Dumbledore erred greiveously in not telling Harry more, and also in not following through on checking Harry every few days from the start - How Did That Happen?!?!?! Had he not been so remiss in his responsibilities, none of the horrors Harry has had to experience, would have - or at least, Harry would have been rescued from the Dursleys and not been at the non-existant mercy of Voldie & the DEs! That's the one bit of this that I absolutely, utterly do not understand - regardless of any level of busy with the DE's other activitieis, given the importance of Harry to the cause, I cannot see him not having followed up on Harry's lack of correspondance - keeping Harry safe was paramont, and his relatives never did care for him properly... and Dumbledore knew it!! I am glad to see that Severus has the right awareness regarding the risk Harry is in at the moment... and as he is both highly intelligent and creative, I trust him (through you) to nip this in the bud! Harry has already experienced far, far more than enough torture, time for him to start learning what it will take to defeat the monster. Eagerly looking forward to more!
Indeed. Well, well, I wonder what that's all about. Slippery, eh? Author's Response: Yep, slippery. And sibilant, mustn't forget sibilant. ;-)
Author's Response: Thanks! New chapter this weekend . . . earlier if I can manage . . .
Lovely, lovely chapter! Author's Response: Yes! "Just tired" is mean to convey a lot. And it will become more clear over the next few chapters. And thanks! I have a lot of time to write at work, and so I do. :-)
Good job! Keira Author's Response: Hi Kiera, Thanks! Yeah, I considered having Snape worry about that -- like he might need to send Harry away after all -- but figured I'd wait till another chapter to mention that.
Author's Response: Thanks! There will be more "freaky" in store for Harry, I'm afraid, but he's out of the woods for the moment.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm enjoying writing this story and am glad folks are getting a kick out of reading. I should have a new chapter done by the weekend.
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm working on the next chapter right now.
Anyway, I'm sure the two have a very long road ahead of them. Update soon, please... Author's Response: Thank you for your review! You hit it spot on; the basis for the upcoming chapters, with Snape the only one who can understand what happened, on severla levels. I'm working on the next chapter now; it should be up by tomorrow at the latest. Thanks, again!
It's a terrible thing what Harry went through, but I'm glad you're having Snape handle it with as much maturity as he is. I don't think (book-wise) he'd ever taunt him about it, but I'm fairly certain he'd still ridicule him and put him down every chance he got, in the future - but I'm glad to know (at least I THINK) this isn't going in that direction. Great job again :D Keira Author's Response: I can't make any promises that Snape won't be a complete a** from time to time, 'cause, well, he's Snape, but no, this fics not going that way, overall. Thanks for the review! |
