I love the ending. Sirius in Hufflepuff. It sounds like he found that even worse than being in Slytherin.
This is a wonderfully unique Post-Voldemort story! It was nothing like I expected it to be and I was drawn in from the very first chapter. I thought that the characterization was extremely well done, and the plotline very believable in the context of the changes in Wizarding society that you are showing.
I find myself alternately feeling sorry for Sirius and wanting to shake him. I think that I can empathize with Snape somewhat although, since the POV is strictly from Harry's perspective, we never get into his head. Good job on the consistency of the POV. I didn't see a single instance of "head-hopping". The detailing of the settings are very good; there's a good sense of "atmosphere". This feels like the Wizarding World as when I read the original series.
I'm very much looking forward to your next update. I'm going to put this in my favorites (once I figure out how to do so! LOL!), and will be checking back frequently to re-read and look for new chapters.
Well done!
LOL!
I've put a number of characters in Hufflepuff, for that very reason. In 2004, the lj community hp100 ran a Sorting challenge, and I landed at least Ron and Crabbe and Goyle there. :-)
Good chapter! Amusing how Harry had to talk the Hat IN to putting him in Slytherin, this time. I guess he's not desperate to prove himself, anymore. (Been there; done that....)
