I really like the beginning of this. I don't normally like "what if Harry is sorted into a different House?" storylines (not because I don't like the concept! I prefer Slytherin!Harry) due to the seeming inability to write it well, but I'm intrigued with this. Continue, please!

you know, you're getting to be somewhat of an addiction to read :) I fell in love with 'walk the shadows', am enjoying 'whelp', and now this one shows a very promising start... so much to read! Great writing style, and I can't wait for more :)
Yeah!! A new story by one of my favorite authors. It must be my birthday (actually, my b-day is Wednesday). Anyway, good start, so far. Can't wait to see where you take us with this one.

hallo! i usually don't like or read slytherin!harry fics, because i find that they either make harry or another main character so OOC that it's unbearable (ie, malfoy saying, well, you're in slytherin now, so we're automatically the best of friends!), or are poorly written, or both. BUT, seeing as I pretty much think you can do no wrong, writing-wise, I figured I'd try this one out. :)
i absolutely LOVE (love, love, love) Walk the Shadows, and Whelp is a close 2nd. so, needless to say, i'm eager to see what you come up with for this concept. you are one of the best writers (fan or not) in characterization that i've read in a long time.

It's a AU, right? If the alternative part began with the sorting, then I suppose Harry had already put down Draco friendship. Wow. It will be so interesting to see how Draco to gain that friendship. And Harry had made friends with Ron. I wish they can maintain their friendship. But of course the authority is yours. I can just wait to see what will happen.
Although I'd like to see Harry to be put into slytherin, I normally don't like slytherin!harry fics. Because I feel nothing towards any slytherins other than Snape and Draco. JKR just put too little ink in them, the cannon Slytherins are too plain. It really hard to like them when their cannon characters are so blur. It's all JKR's fault.
Anyway I hope this fic will be different. I hope I will like this one.
Author's Response: Yes, this'll be AU, but the breaking point is not at the sorting, but at Madam Malkins . . . that's all I'll say for now, but that scene will be played as flash back a bit later. I am hoping to portray the Slytherins in a more positive light in my fic, if only because we'll have a chance to get to know them better. Sure, some of them will still be prats or utterly obnoxious, but not all of them. I hope. ;-) Thanks for the review, and I hope you'll like the story, too!
