I’m so relieved that Snape has had a wake up call over his unreasonable treatment of Harry - about time!
I told you Severus was an asshole. Now at least he's facing up to it. It'll be interesting to see how you manage his change.

Nice interaction between Flint and Snape and *excellent* characterization of Flint, as well. Plus, Severus's epiphany, well, this was a chapter among chapters.
Great idea making the Bloody Baron into the sardonic, wry, bleak sense of humor ghost that he is.

I'm glad you finally put this chapter in, because I was about to bail on this story. I know a lot of people on this site like Snape abusing Harry (to make him stronger or whatever) but I'm not one of them.
Your Harry has a quiet dignity that kept me engaged, but I was about ready to give up. This may not have been corporal punishment, but that seemed to be about the only kind of abuse you didn't have Snape inflict. I do hope that Harry starts to get a little adult caring from somewhere soon.
You write Harry well, and I hope he gets to be treated better.

Would Potter give himanother chance?
I know I would be unlikely to do so... at least, not for very good reason, and it would take quite some time, not due to any form of pride, simply out of self-preservation. Snape's behaviour, as the adult in charge, was inexcusable. That's why I had to leave for some time, and only just came back, to find out if the situation had improved at all. Snape was abusive, no other term for it.
* weeping * How much is the boy supposed to be able to take?
Author's Response: Hi Banner, thanks for the review! As for your question, tho' I know it's probably rhetorical, I figured I'd answer anyway, to say, we'll see about how much he can take next chapter (which I'm working on now) where the meltdown will be shown from Harry's perspective, as well as a summary of the horrible days (for him) leading up to it. I hope it'll give more context for the inevitable meeting between him and Severus. Thanks again!

IT'S ABOUT TIME SNAPE WISED UP!!! And about work, sorry.
Haha, poor you. Having to work. It must blow big time when you're not used to it... it'll blow for us at least ;)
Can I say it's about damn time that this happened? Good grief, Harry's a tough kid. I have to admire the way you write him so believably... and it was only a matter of time before he had a severe break down like that. The true test will be to see if Severus can move past what he's done and rectify the whole dang thing. I can't WAIT for that to happen either :D
Good luck with work and your writing!
I'm glad that Severus has finally been shaken up! It's high time he started helping Harry, instead of tormenting him. I loved how the Bloody Baron took up for Harry, and McGonagall, too. Looking forward to the next chapter, and hopefully, everything will go well at your work!

All good fanfiction writers should be subsidized by earnest and ardent fans so that they can abandon their day jobs, and dedicate themselves to updating their brilliant fics... Unfortunately the world is cruel... I love all your stories.... and have been following them from the beginning and Better Be Slytherin is my favourite... Looking forward to further updates at your convenience
