Oh! That was fluffy! That was so fluffy! "ITC'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!!"
"His hand was still on Harry's cheek, and Harry closed his eyes, just for an instant, and leaned, just a little, into a touch that for once, did not cause him pain or guilt or shame. Just for a moment he let himself dream that he could always have someone who would protect him, who would always care for him. He sighed, nodded, and opened his eyes. "I . . . I will. Yes, sir."
And then, an incredible thing happened. He saw Professor Snape smile."
Waaaaah!

Very touching. *sniffle, sniffle*
I'm glad you plan to write all 7 of these. Even if it means you did drop Whelp II, I love this
Great chapter!
Author's Response: Thanks!
You know, at this point, I believe Dumbledore is more than a little Dark. He is not only not protecting Harry well enough, but he is also allowing a pederast to go free to continue to molest others. What that young man did was not the mistake of an innocent, who simply was attracted to and cared about, thus was sexually active with a fully consenting partner who happened to be underage, and close to his own age - These actions were in fact, fully intentional and those of a true predator... who has done damage, and will continue to do so, now, due to Dumbledore's lack of spine when it comes to protecting the young and innocent by putting away those who are a clear and present danger. Just because he is young, does not mean he needs 'another chance' or that this will 'ruin his life'. He is already set, as all the research supports - the only 'kind' thing to do - even for the predator, is to prevent re-offense, as he will most surely do so if left free. There are circumstances that allow for mitigation, and what happened here - was most Definitely Not that type of circumstance! The lives that that man has already, and will continue to ruin, as now ALL at least in shared part, Dumbledore's crimes as well! I have lost what little respect I had for this version of Dumbledore. I can no longer accept that he is doing his best to balance and address what he can against unknown other influences. That one went far beyond any acceptable ratinoal. It would take something extreme for him to regain any credibility as a true Light wizard - he simply does not belong in charge of a school of young children, if he is so cavalier in their protection!! Hmm, yes, this one truly touched a nerve and got a very intense emotional response from me!
Author's Response: Hi xikum -- thanks for the review! And I completely and totally agree with what you said here. 100 percent. This incident was me just taking a scenario that actually happened in canon, then shoving it backward a few years while changing a few of the particulars, but not Dumbles' reaction, so as to highlight the wrongness inherent in his particular (non)action. I mean, of course, Dumbles letting Sirius Black off with a warning for nearly murdering two people (Snape and Lupin) with his little "Go down the tunnel, Snivellous," stunt. Thank you for elucidating my thoughts on the matter. :-) --jharad17

your writing is brilliant i hope you continue this story and whelp, the harry potter universe seems to be full of great WIPs that are never finished
I haven't visited the site in a while, too buisy, but I finally got to read some updates so here is your reveiw:
Poor, poor sweet Harry! At least it didn't get that far, thank the Lord. So glad Gais is gone and that Harry can feel like he can confide in Snape, Harry really needs him. Peeves ruled what he did to Gais! Snape was truly wonderful. AW! SNape smiled! *fangirl squel* lol, at least I'm not crazily obsesive, I just love Snape with all my heart ^_^. That was a very good way to end the chapter, major props to you. PLEASE post again soon! PLEASE!
Man, you're pumping these out! Yay! And you're feeding into our needs, and very well I might add. All this hurt/comfort business is fantastic. I'm glad Gaius is gone so fast and that Dumbledore has considered letting Snape take full or temporary custody of Harry. Woooh!
