Reviews For Better Be Slytherin!
I like how you've given Harry a talent besides Quidditch and his magical abilities. The way you had him develop his skill and his pleasure in drawing was very believable. It makes sense that he'd have to do something during all those hours he was locked in his cupboard...whether it was drawing, daydreaming, or some other something. It's only a wonder he didn't go insane, come to think of it. I loved, loved, loved how uncertain Harry was about whether he should give Severus a present (and I'm so happy that he did, since it did mean a lot to Sev), and how excited he was about receiving some gifts for himself. That was always such a sweet sad little scene for me in both the book and the movie. Neither Harry nor Severus has much experience in giving or recieving presents, another thing they have in common. But perhaps things will be different for both of them now. I liked how Harry is developing a friendship with Hermione and I hope he can with Ron, too. I enjoy his interactions with Millie, Teddy, and Draco, too. It was really very mature and loyal of Harry to see that Severus was trying to help him in the snit with Ron when they were playing chess. I liked that. I'm curious about the Baron's reaction to Voldemort. He seemed unusually fearful, especially for a ghost. And I can't wait for Harry and Severus to begin Occlumency. Hopefully, it will go better than it did in canon for them! Again, it was a wonderful chapter and I'm looking forward to more! Hope you feel well and stay well! Author's Response: Thanks, Kristeh! I'm glad you agreed on the natural outcome of Harry spending hours and hours in a confined space -- as you said, I can't imagine how he could keep from going stark raving mad if he didn't have a hobby like that; I certainly would have. As for Occlumency . . . well, the lessons in this fic could hardly go worse than in canon, eh? ;-) Thanks for your well wishes, too, it means a lot to me. --Rachel
Author's Response: That's certainly part of it -- we know from canon, for instance, that a basilisk's gaze can affect a ghost, so it makes sense that other things might, too. Thank you for your review!
