Reviews For Better Be Slytherin!
I feel bad for Snape, when Harry said he didn't want to spend the summer with him, it really hurt. It seems he's trying to sort things out to find out exactly WHY Harry is avoiding him though. *sigh* why is Dumbledore never straightforward? Guess he wants people to figure things out for themselves... Anyway, hope Snape takes the hint and to read more chapters soon :) Sounds like next chapter Norbert pops up. Author's Response: You wrote: Sounds like next chapter Norbert pops up. Or out, of his shell, anyway. :) Dumbleydore couldn't be straightforward if he tried; it would break him somehow. Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: I made the assumption that since Dumbles always knows everything that's going on in the castle, he knows what's happening on the grounds, too. Maybe he had little birds who tell him? Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks!
I feel so badly for poor Severus, though. Trust doesn't come easily for him either, and he's so hurt by Harry now. When Harry said...well, nodded actually...that he didn't want to stay with Severus, my heart just broke at the thought of how Severus felt. Of course he's going about solving the problem in the wrong way, but it would be hard for him to know what to do since he doesn't have a clue what Harry's problem is. Good thinking on his part though, to wonder if it's connected to the Avery incident. I'm sure Harry will eventually have some baggage from that to deal with. Now I'm looking forward to the next chapter, but as you've said that the reason for Harry and Severus having problems is so that Harry will go after the stone, I really, really want for all that to happen. Because of course you're going to have a wonderful reconciliation scene then, right? Right? I can't wait for it! Oh, and I do hope you'll write about Severus going with Harry to stay at the Dursleys, too. That has lots of potential, lol! Author's Response: Thank you, Kristeh! It was honestly hard for me to write the part of Harry rejecting Severus' offer; I felt so bad for Sev, too! But the getting the stone part will be fun . . . I imagine there to be about 5 or 6 more chapters of this story, with one of them being what will likely happen to Harry over the summer . . . but not the summer itself. We'll save that for Book 2, which I have no idea what to name . . .
Hope you post soon -- I need to find out if Snape will take the clue. Why doesn't Dumbledore just tell him? Author's Response: Dumbledore? Just say something out straight to someone without wrapping it in riddles? Pish tosh. *grin* As for him knowing what happened in the forest, I just pushed the idea of him knowing everything that goes on in the castle out to include the grounds as well. Sure, there aren't portraits out there, but there are animals and birds and such, some of which might talk to a Phoenix or something . . . He has his ways. :)
I really like how you have made Harry being sorted into Slyterhin, so believable; as is Snape's treatment of him. You have kept both of them in character, while allowing their relationship to develop in a way that the reader is comfortable with. I am looking forward to your next update. I just can't wait to see Dragons & Draco and hijinks galore!!
