Reviews For Better Be Slytherin!
I really appreciate your completing your stories. So many excellent writers quit part way through a fine story. Knowing that it hasn't always been easy for you to write, with Real Life as it is, makes your perseverance all the more appreciated.
Please start the new story soon! I can't wait until Snape meets the Dursley's!
I am so glad that Snape saw through Dumbledore's acts. We all "liked" Dumbledore because the first person Harry mets, Hagdrid, said that Dumbledore was a great man and everyone went along with it. In another fiction, called Accountable, Percy finally said why he didn't trust Dumbledore. Year one: Ron goes up against a DL and gets rewarded for it. Year Two:let two children go up against a Basilisk (the kids figured it out before the greatest wizard in the land) and Harry was rewarded again. year three: after Ron's leg was broken, Dumbledore sent Harry and Hermione out after a werewolf, a dangerous rat and dementors year four: D could have put the cup in his office but then let Harry compete and put Ron in the middle of the water where he could have died. Looking at it from Percy's point of view, the least trustworthy person in the wizarding world was Albus Dumbledore. Author's Response: Looking at it from Percy's point of view, the least trustworthy person in the wizarding world was Albus Dumbledore. Got to agree with you (and/or Percy) there. Or, at least Dumbles is the least responsible Headmaster there has ever been, not so much looking out for the welfare of his charges as putting them in constant danger and then patching them up afterwards if he can. Thanks for reviewing!
I've really enjoyed the story, and hope you get to year II soon. I can wait to see what transpires between Harry and Snape over the summer. Of course, I also like your other stories, so I just can't decide what I hope you'll work on next.....
Poor Gryffindor never saw it coming (like Slytherin in cannon), the cup was just whisked away. Though when I first read Harry Potter I too was thrilled with his House winning, I now-a-days agree with Snape about it being a bad thing to encourage Harry to take dangerous actions. *shrugs* But what can you do? Harry just wouldn't be Harry if he didn't try to sort things out. I'm sure Sev will be right there to try and stop him though, and once again I'm glad that thanks to said professor Harry won't have such a trying summer. As for title ideas, if there’s some cannon event you plan on changing try to work it into the title. You know, like how you titled this ‘Better be Slytherin’ as Harry was placed in Slytherin? Author's Response: Thanks for your kind review! The Snape vs. Petunia fireworks should be fun as a start to Book Two . . . but I'll be working on Before the Dawn a bit before I start that one. As I mention up thread, I'm going to go with "Heir of Slytherin" for Book Two, since most everyone will think it's Harry, now that he's in Slytherin House *and* a Parselmouth. |
