Reviews For Better Be Slytherin!
I just wish I could read the rest of this fic faster. Boy do I hate having to work. :)
Your work is not perfect, however. Many times I found words- profanity especially- and dialogue that I rarely if ever encountered in the HP books themselves. But aside from noting that, and a general note that this work was not flawless, I have no other complaints. I especially enjoyed scenes from or based off the original book, since they were easiest to recognise. Perhaps the best depiction of what difference Harry being sorted into Slytherin would have made was at one of the Quidditch games, when Millicent Bullstrode, Crabbe and Goyle, and Theodore Nott mixed it up with Neville Longbottom and Ron Weasley. The drastically changed relationships between Harry and the rest of the school are, I believe, depicted very accurately. The picture I ultimately came away with was a Harry Potter with a silver and green badge on his robes. Still chock full of that Gryffindor boldness and valour, but decidedly different from the Gryffindor he, in this story, never became. All in all, the quality of your work here was outstanding. Imperfect, yes, but I would hesitate to assert that I could have done better. I have read your statements about writing a sequel, maybe more than one, to this story. I sincerely hope you will, and eagerly look forward to the day you finish your alternate "Chamber of Secrets". I wish all fanfiction was set at this standard. If all fanfiction were as good as this or better, we'd all be better of for it.
And then, an incredible thing happened. He saw Professor Snape smile." Waaaaah!
I think Severus is falling in love with little Harry Potter. (in a very paternal way, of course)
Oh, Severus is so sweet and caring in his own snarky way. I love how you write him, even if it did take me a while to warm up to him in this particular story. |
