Title: Constant Vigilance is Underrated 16 Oct 2007 3:19 pm

Tobias is an interesting character, but really, Severus and he are only interested in each other, aren't they? Apparently Harry counts only as the little brother and son they can pat on the head and order to be a good boy. They ignore his questions, won't tell him anything he should know and when he gets angry, they abandon him telling him they won't allow 'temper tantrums' thereby completely denying the validity of his feelings.

Honestly, I am surprised Harry is still standing for it, but I guess the thrill of having a family that doesn't beat him is too exciting for him to realize that he is allowed to be his own person and that when the Wizarding World forces a destiny on him, he is allowed a say in how he fulfills it. What do they plan to do, keep him locked up with his schoolbooks and then put him under an Imperius to finish off Voldemort in exactly the way they want him to? They don't seem to be above it, judging from earlier in your stories.

    Author's Response:

I realize I'm leaving Harry out a lot for now, but he will come into play more soon as well Tobias and Severus's actions towards him. I'm trying to portray Tobias as a loving and wise character, but he doesn't know everything and his experiences with raising Severus aren't helping much with Harry. (I hinted about that in the last story) As for Severus, he doesn't know anything. At least when it comes to children and especially his younger brother.

As the story progresses all three will learn very valuable lessons. I can't say any more then that without giving the story away.

Thanks for the review and I hope you enjoy the story.

    Tiffany,

I'm enjoying how the sequel is going, I can't wait for the next chapter, please email me at: elizabeth12@hughes.net as soon as you update.

I have to say, I'm deeply dissapointed in Serenity, I thought poor Sevy had finally found someone to love, but now that hope is dashed. I'm curious if the child is going to be a boy or girl. I hope it's a girl personaly, there needs to be a girl in that family. hehe. I wish I could jump into you're story and help poor Severus through his problems. I'll just have to pray for him ^_^

    ttyl,

    Beth

    Author's Response:

I'm glad you're enjoying the sequel. If you want to be alerted for the next chapter you can add me to your favorites on this site or if you go to fanfiction.net (same pen name and title).

Serenity...at first I really liked her, but as the story went on...I had to get rid of her and what better way to do it then to have her turn into Eileen. (I'm evil aren't I.)

You'll have to wait and see if about the baby.

    Thanks for the review.

Lovely job with the conversation between Severus and Tobias. Every word of it seemed just right, without coming across as too prepared...and the break into excitement at the end was great also. I loved how Harry got excited too and hope that he isn't reprimanded for overhearing...this should be a moment when he is made to feel like part of the family with his Dad and brother.

Another part of the chapter I thought worked well was Tobias' class. You didn't linger to show either young wizard's reaction but having Ron be the one to reason out a solution for "Minister Malfoy" was good planning on Tobias' part...and yours! The interplay between the students in that class is nice to see and it would be great to see it spread beyond that classroom as a counter to Umbridge's poison.
    Overall, a really satisfying chapter.

    Author's Response:

Harry, won't be in trouble, I promise. I'm really glad you enjoy Tobias's classes. If I ever become a teach that is how I would run my class, or at least very similar.

Glad you enjoyed the chapter. Thanks for the wonderful review.

Thanks for responding to my review but from I suggest you go back and reread your previous story as Sev didn't just start being formal with his father. You had him doing that from the start even before he was deaged with Harry. Loved the Sev/Tobias talk. What is Harry's motive for not telling his dad about the blood quill?

    Author's Response:

Glad you enjoyed the talk. As for Harry's motive you'll have to wait and see. :)

    Thanks for the review

    *L* Harry!

    Love it... perfect 'TV moment'.

    Author's Response:

I can't take all the credit, Harry listening in on the conversation was more my beta's doing then mine.

    Thanks for reviewing

Wow! The scene between Severus and Tobias made me cry, it was so sweet! And that doesn't normally happen, even with my favorite fics. Great job! Thanks for the quick update too, though now I can't wait for the next one!

    Author's Response:

Wow! I'm actually glad that happened it shows I described it well. Thank you.

You'll have to wait a couple weeks for the next one.

    Thanks for reviewing.

omg... OMG-OMG-OMG-OMG-OMG!!!! *sqweeeee* Sevy's gonna be a daddy!! Heee. I feel just like Harry right now!! I'm sooooo excited!

Oh, but... Sev won't be too mad at Harry for eavesdropping, will he? .... o_o

    Author's Response:

Sev won't be too mad, I promise. And I know what you mean, I have a strange desire just to skip the next several chapters and go straight to when the baby is born. I can't wait.

    Thanks for reviewing.

That was an amazing chapter! Hermione and Ron are being such good friends to Harry! I hope he learns to appreciate soon! Oh and Harry, eavesdropping is so bad! I loved your history lesson, and making Ron Draco's financial advisor is genius and ironic! Great Job!

    Author's Response:

Thanks. Ron always seemed to be a very stragetic person so while he may not have the...ambition to be a politican he could easily be cheif excutive or something. Harry actually won't get in much trouble for eavesdropping. As for Hermione and Ron well you'll have to wait and see.

You are like an updating machine! :)

I loved the conversation between Tobias and Severus so very much. Severus being worried about being a good dad and Tobias being so gentle and earnest was awesome. I'm glad he finally told!

    Author's Response:

*squeel* Glad you enjoyed it. I was really worried about the conversation. I actually had it planned out completely differently, but when I started writing it just went a completely different direction. I think I like it better this way. Anyway, It will probably be two weeks before the next update.

    Thanks for the review.
