Reviews For Evolution
Well written, ugh, tense!
Having read your inner monologue, allow me to cordially inform you that I never, ever wish to read it again. It is extremely creepy and more than a little terrifying. Your plan, frankly, has several distressingly predatory overtones of *grooming* and you should never have been allowed near anyone, let alone anyone under twenty. As the Harry Potter universe is fictional, any hypothetical children of mine will never have the dubious pleasure of attending your school. And if I *were* a part of the Potterverse,I would gladly send my children to Beauxbatons or some other reputable school. Well, that's a lie, I'd hate to spend ten months of the year away from my children, but you get the idea. It pleases me that your staff are subverting your intentions, and I hope you get your comeuppance for being complicit in child abuse. I also hope your staff don't suffer for their actions, illegal though they are. You are a horrible, horrible person; and the worst part is, I can very nearly almost see why you acted as you did. With Severus. Initially. All your actions after that have been appalling. And honestly, ring of madness. You and Voldemort really aren't so different. Me May Dear author, Congratulations on writing such a scary POV so well. The above letter details why it is. Generally, this is a very good chapter, and story, and I just wish that it wasn't dead. Any hopes for it continuing?
Dumbledore just can't get it right, can he? Harry is different from Riddle and Severus and the Headmaster either doesn't realise or can't conceive of Harry still being willing to do what is right without being bound to Dumbledore by gratitude. I've always thought that Albus was a manipulative old *mumblety-mumble* and you did a great job of showing it as well as his major character flaw. I found it ironic that you showed that Albus wasn't omniscient and that he didn't consciously believe he was with the bit about the door chime but then you immediately afterwards showed us that despite that he really feels that he does know everything and that whatever he thinks is the right thing to do is the only thing to do. In some ways I think that Dumbledore (especially in your characterization here) is in many ways far worse than Voldemort. The Dark Lord is at least straightforward in his evil. It's visible so one can fight it. Albus however, hides his evil actions under the cloak of "the greater good"; something that hearkens back to what a number of people were doing in Nazi Germany--which isn't really surprising given that he was involved with JKR's Hitler-analogue Grindalwald and despite turning against him is still inculcated with that mindset. And what he's done to Poppy is entirely inexcusable. When that poor woman finds out that he's forced her to go against her Healer's Oath he'd better what out! I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that confrontation, wouldn't you? I can understand Harry's feeling of betrayal but Sev didn't really have the time to warn him earlier as he must have been working on getting everything set up for the rescue plan. I am really looking forward to what you have happening next. Whatever it is, I'm sure it's going to be as good or better than what you've given us so far. Bravo! Dancingkatz
Send him to Snape, anyone is better than those horrible people! Whew, I've had a rough day, I've read the most amazing stories, but they are all well-written and emotionally draining. I really need the box of tissues! The best stories, I have found, alway move me in a powerful way. Like this one! |
