Reviews For Emerald Eyes
I think that subconsciously Harry wanted to know just how annoying and defiant he could get before Snape reacts in some way... I find so fitting, the fact that Snape didn`t drop harry`s fingers until he has stop squirming ; It was something like, "I`ll not let you defy my authority". I guess they are just setting some boundaries. Forgive my english; and keep writing ;)
Talk about having a rough day! However, Harry's pride certainly isn't doing him any favores at the moment either. As badly as Harry needs to unload some of the burden he is carrying, I wonder if he even knows how to go about doing that. Another brilliant chapter hon! Tracy
I like Snape's grabbing Harry's hand to keep him from popping his knuckles. I enjoyed the way that you made it deliberately unclear as to whether Harry was doing it to annoy Snape or whether Harry did it just because he was annoyed. Great how Snape didn't yell, but held his fingers as if Harry was a naughty five-year-old. The putting his head down on the table was a terrific ending. It said so much about how Snape viewed the boy - as an almost out-of-control child that needed a time-out. I can see how everything was adding up against Harry and he felt overwhelmed. I think the two swats helped him snap back to reality, and hopefully Snape will straighten him out in the near future. Harry seems to suffer from a great deal of stress, but I bet Snape will catch on before anyone else can. Good job! Author's Response: Hi! Thanks for such an awesome review :) I believe, even in canon, that Snape is perceptive, and even though he may not let on, he is careful about the way he reprimands...well, in my story anyway...lol. I altered the last part of this chapter several times, and finally came up with the "head down" conclusion. If Snape would have just hauled off and given him a full-blown smacking, it wouldn't have had a very positive effect. I'm so flattered that you're enjoying my story! Like I've said before, I'm a huge, HUGE fan of your Time and Place series. I think I've read them through about ten times each..lol. Thanks again for reading and reveiwing :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I'd much rather write than do anything, so right now, I'm hating real life priorities...they just in the way. lol.
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I remember it too...lol.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! And yeah, well...Harry lives to mess up. Honestly. lol.
Author's Response: Wow....thank you for the awesome feedback! I'm flattered :)
Author's Response: It's insane how many times I tweaked that plan. And then I thought...well...they're young, so obviously it's not going to work out perfectly. And as for Harry confiding in Snape....we'll see ;) Thanks very much for reading and reviewing!
This was a wonderful chapter. I loved Harry from start to finish: pinging the cauldron, his attention so easily distracted, his emotions riding just below the surface, his attitude just oozing, the defiance underscored by sheer terror, his capitulation just a fraction of a second too late and his final declaration "I'm twelve" Perfect! Perhaps you've been a fly on the wall at my home!lol Snape was fabulous. He understands these boys but doesn't. I loved that Harry can sense that something's changing with his relationship with Snape. He's a little clueless yet, but he did briefly contemplate confiding in Snape, and he's admitting to himself that the great plan might not be so great. I'm rambling. I loved it. Please, please post more soon. Mamaduck Author's Response: Well, no, not a fly, but I have been twelve. :) I guess I just wanted to make Harry's "tantrum" believable but not without purpose. He's been through a lot, and regardless of how old you are, it's hard to keep your emotions in check when you have a lot on your mind. I quite enjoy writing Snape, so I'm glad you think he's fab. And hey, ramble away...I love reading your feedback! Thanks so much for the wonderful review ;) |
