Reviews For Emerald Eyes
I really liked the scene between Hermione and Harry as well, but wished that Harry had perhaps been able to explain a little more about his experience with Snape during his last detention...but alas, embaressment is a strong emotion to overcome. But, hug for Mr. Snape for dealing with both Potter and Malfoy, I think it was extremely in character! Yay for soap in the mouth! I've never had the displeasure of that happening to me, but I can imagine how much it sucks! At least Harry's learned his lesson. Speaking of LESSONS...*squeals in excitement* I can't wait for the next chapter! This Defense Lesson is going to be great! YAY! And YaY for Chess!! I love chess! Happy weekend and good luck with the next chapter! Author's Response: Thanks for the great review! I'm currently trying to force myself to get my butt in gear and open up a Word doc. and work on Chapter 14 of this story. I'm only letting myself sit and listen to music for the next 27 minutes, so you won't have to wait long for the next chapter :) There's no way Malfoy would have gotten away with tormenting Harry...not now. And yeah, I haven't had soap in my mouth either, so I had to majorly use my imagination for that part. Knowing my twelve-year-old potty-mouthed self, I probably should have...lol. As for the trio interaction, there will be a bit more in the next chapter...as for explanations...well...how DO you explain a situation like that thoroughly without dying of embarassement? Don't worry, though, Harry will figure it out. I actually can't play chess to save my life, but Ron sure is jolly good at it ;) Thanks again for the wonderful encouragement!
Author's Response: Thank you! Harry definitely needed his mouth washed out with soap, even though...yeah...I guess I created quite the potty-mouthed twelve-year-old, but I always felt that J.K.R. did the same thing without actually letting the swear words fly. I was a little wary about writing the soap scene, because I've read fics where something similar occurs between Harry and Snape and it's just a bit corny...lol. But I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter, and thanks again for the review! Merry Christmas!
Still very much enjoying the story. Thanks for the update and hooray for days off. I look forward to the next chapter. Author's Response: Thanks for the great review! I love the fact that you picked out the little things that you particularly enjoyed in this chapter. Snape lifting Harry on the counter was one of those moments that I really enjoyed writing, because it was sweet, yet Harry was in for it at the same time, so you don't really know what to feel...lol. I want to show that it's possible to be strict and caring at the same time. Even for Snape. Hermione is great fun to write...I have to go into my all-knowing, thirty-year-old-in-a-twelve-year-old's-body type of mode... :) Thanks again, and have a great holiday!
Your Harry is just the right mix of meek and defiant, and your Hermione has it right- most of the time. Wonderful! Author's Response: Thank you! I really try to keep all characters in canon as much as possible, because I think a story is easier to relate to, because we're used to the way J.K. writes her characters. I quite adore prickly!Snape as well...lol. He's really fun to write, as well as Harry. Thanks again for the review!
I felt bad for Harry having to hold the soap in his mouth for 2 minutes. But he did kind deserve it. And Harry's emotion as Snape was scolding: perfect. I'm sure I've mentioned this before but you have a great talent for writing, but especially when it comes to Harry. I hope to see a new chapter soon after Christmas. Merry Christmas! Author's Response: Yeah, two minutes is a long time, but I bet he'll never say THAT again... I know I wouldn't...at least not outloud...in front of Snape anyway...lol. I'm just not sure what it is about Harry....I just connect with him for some reason. Maybe it's because even at twenty three, I still feel quite young sometimes. Who knows... But either way, that's extremely kind of you to compliment my writing. Thank you so much for taking the time out to read AND review. More than likely, I'll be sitting around at my parents' house bored after Christmas, so I'll have a new chapter up soon!
Author's Response: lol...See I've never experienced the whole soap thing, so I really had to use my imagination..which is odd to think of me sitting around imagining the taste of soap...Ha. I'm so glad you liked this chapter! Thanks for reading and reviewing :)
Author's Response: Thank you, dear :) I'm glad you liked it!
I loved the soap thing, even though it was bad for poor Harry. Good grief, he's thick! Well, maybe the soap went to his head, lol. Wonderful chapter, you're a wonderful writer, and I can't wait for the next update! Merry Christmas! Author's Response: Thank you so much. I really appreciate your kind review! I'm not sure Harry is exactly thick...just young and concerned about things that are most likely of little interest to Snape...lol. Have a great holiday! |
