Reviews For Emerald Eyes
Author's Response: Noted and adjusted. Thanks for pointing it out!
Author's Response: Thank you for the thoughtful review and kind words :) I'm really glad that you like this story so much! I should have a new chapter up soon, as I've got the next one planned out and will begin working on it tomorrow. Again, thank you. It's always great to get such positive feedback :)
Author's Response: Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying the story :)
I was very proud of Snape too, for being so patient with Harry. It was great to see him trying so hard. I'm very pleased to see their relationship progress, it's coming along nicely. And of course, it's great for both of them! Snape gets to indulge in his almost non existent parental nature and Harry has someone looking out for him and thus has expectations to meet and rules to follow. I was very pleased with how the whole scene played out, it was very well written! But I wonder, is Harry going to go back to Myrtle's bathroom and see Mrs. Norris and the writing on the wall? Or, are you not going cannon? Either way, it'll be interesting with Snape and Harry's new realationship to test them. I'm looking forward to the agnst of Ron coming to terms with Snape's not-so-terribly-mean-ness. It should definatly be interesting and I can't wait!! Until next chapter! Happy New Year and belated Voldemort's birthday! Author's Response: Keeping them in character, especially Snape, is harder than it seems. lol. I really appreciate your comment about that ;) The subtleness of their growing relationship is something that I work with carefully. I think for Snape, even in canon, to be able to protect a child without question, regardless of the reason, requires some sort of parental instinct. I suppose it's just flourishing in this story...lol I won't be following everything that happens in book 2, but Myrtle's bathroom will reappear, just in my own way, I suppose ;) Ron will be in the next chapter! Hmmm...wonder how he'll react... Thanks so much for the great review! You always leave me amazing feedback :) Hope your new year was great!
Cheers, Delaine Author's Response: lol...well thanks! I've been known to be the teacher who has to constantly clamp my hand down on on a pencil-tapping hand or two... That drives me nuts. I've only been teaching for a few months, and already I'm noticing how annoyingly energetic fourteen/fifteen year olds can be even at 7:30 in the morning...lol. So since Harry is twelve in this story, I suppose he's allowed to be that way too...lol. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing twice! That's awesome.
Author's Response: Thank you for encouraging me twice :) You're the best!
Author's Response: Thanks Beth! I'm really glad you're still enjoying the story. I'll try and post a new chapter of this story as soon as possible :)
This chapter was great. Snape was so patient with Harry until he ran off. The boy does have a habit of running directly into danger, so I can understand Snape's frustration. But hopefully, with Snape's agreement to include Harry in the investigation, that habit will be broken. Not! I loved the way Snape had Harry use a potion that he had brewed. What a way to get the boy to realize that he really can do something in potion. And I like the fact that Snape compliments him on his successes. Harry doesn't get that often enough. Well, at least not for the true successes. My favorite part, though, was when Harry realized that Snape actually has expectations of him. Every child needs that, especially coming from someone who will hold him to those expectations. Thanks so much for the update. Definitely a good day for your readers. Take care and have a great New Year. Be safe. Author's Response: Yes, he does have a habit of being impetuous, but did you notice how he kept turning around like...yes, he's following me!...lol. Poor kid. I try not to make Harry a gigantic dolt who gets into trouble just because he can...Most of the time, it's for the sake of someone else. Or maybe because he's young and doesn't think before he acts a lot of the time. The subtle compliments will do Harry a world of good, you're right. I don't think that Harry would be the kind of boy who could stand being coddled. I'm really glad you enjoyed the "expectations" part, as that is a key factor in this story. Thanks very much for all of your great reviews! I love reading them.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I was a bit worried about this chapter, thinking it was too boring and maybe even a bit dorky, but I'm really glad you enjoyed it. I need to quit beating myself up before I post, I guess...lol. I love the fact that you approve of my version of Harry... I don't try to make him deliberately annoying...just twelve. Again, thanks for the great review! |
