Snape has really come round in this chapter and his efforts have certainly paid off too haven't they? Harry is feeling more comfortable and confident with Snape and his enthusiasm for those private lessons has only increased. Now to find out what is going on with poor Ginny!
    Loving it hon!

I love this story. You wrote Harry as an actual 12 year old, and Snapes parental with out being OOC. I love their relationship and can't wait to read more!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm glad you appreciate the way I've written both Harry and Snape :)  That's very encouraging to hear.  More should be posted very soon!

EEP! I love it! I love all the little physical touches that Snape gave Harry, like putting a hand on his shoulder, turning his chin, picking him up, and then keeping his arm around him, even pushing his foot off the couch and thumping his wrist. Even though he won't admit it, you can see from stuff like that, that Snape really does care! (Atleast, that's the impression I got.)
Can't wait for the next chapter!
(Love the thing with Ginny! It was so sweet when Snape picked Harry up, and Harry went "Ginny...". I could just hear the desperation in his voice. Very nice! I also loved the fact that Snape was calming him down. Idk, it just seemed so cute and sweet. *Dodges a jar of pickled taods eyes being thrown at her by one very indignant Snape*
    "HEY!"
    Anyways....
I love this story, and I'm so sad that it's going to end!
    WAAAH!
    Oh well.
    Love it!

    Author's Response:

    Elise,

Thanks so much for the lovely review :)  Your feedback always cheers me up...  You're quite right about the subtle caring going on.  And I literally cracked up at the flying pickled toads remark. lol.  That was great.  You always seem to pick out the lines in my stories that I enjoyed writing the most.  You definitely pegged the intent of the "Ginny..." line.  ;)  And I'm really glad you enjoyed that scene.  I'll elaborate on it in the next chapter.

Yes, this story is nearing an end, but it won't be for a while yet, as it usually takes me about a week between updates, so it's got another month to go, most likely :)  Thanks again for all of your lovely reviews (for both of my stories)  You're the greatest!

It seems like just a week or two ago the first chapter of this wonderful story was posted and allready its coming to an end. *sniff sniff* Any chance of a sequel? ;)

I can't wait for the next chapter and hope you update soon.

I love how Snape just picked Harry up at the end yet Harry continued to struggle to be put down and go to Ginny. I could just see that scene. And the talk they had after Dumbledore left was wonderful. I couldn't decided whether to laugh or cry when Snape and Dumbldore were watching Harry through the door.

Excellent chapter and I can't wait for the next. I'm sure you'll story will be on the new featured list.

    Author's Response:

I think I have this *thing* with Snape lifting Harry.  It's so snuggly, yet it's not meant to be. lol.  And yes, Harry is desparate to help Ginny, so he struggles in Snape's hold; however, at least Snape forces him to think about what he's going to do before he does it.  A step in the right direction.  Yay, Harry!

And yes, the invisible door scene was meant to have a dual effect on your emotions.  It's comical to see Harry sitting there, scratching his poor behind, but at the same time, he's got this dejected look on his face, and we know that he's heart-broken over the whole situation.

Well, thanks (again) for the review :)  Featured story or not, I'm having such a great time just writing and posting ;)

Well, it's Friday - my day to review chapters. Got to save - love this chapter. Unlike a lot of people, I actually like Dumbledore, and his interactions with Snape interest me in as far as they reveal insight into Snape's character.

I loved the part where they could see out in the hallway. I just came from a conference about theory in literature, and we were talking about private sphere and space, the way people act when they think no one is watching. Harry's attitude in the hallway when he thought he was alone showed Snape more about Harry's feeling than Snape would have seen we he was with the boy. In other words, Harry's sad, lonely stance allowed Snape to empathize with him because Snape understands loneliness and confusion.

One thing I absolutely hated was the part where you told us there are only five chapters left. Why? Why must you end it for us? I hate when things have to end, and I completely loathe the ending of things I have enjoyed and loved. I will demand right here and now that you write a sequel. I love your other story "Starting from Scratch," but we need Snape back.

And the tickling scene was cute. Snape was trying to be all serious and business while Harry kept squirming. Keep writing, please.

    Author's Response:

First of all, I'm so glad you have the chance to read and review today, because I LOVE your feedback.  Love it.  ;)  Second of all, I must say I'm jealous that you've just come from a theory and literature conference, because I'm missing school more than I though I would.  I need to go for my master's degree in literature or writing before I go crazy.  Sure, teaching's a hoot, but it doesn't really cut it. lol.

Anyway, I'm so glad you picked up on exactly what I was trying to portray with the invisible door scene.  Severus caught on a little bit to Harry's sadness when he was patting the kid's back after his spanking, of course.  But this was different.  High five for you.

And...I...suppose all I can say is I'm sorry about the five-more-chapters notice.  *hangs head*  I don't have an idea for a sequel right now, but maybe my imagination will bubble over after I'm finished writing this one.  Don't worry...I won't stop writing for good ;)  I just don't want to drag this story out forever.  I'm stretching out SfS for a few more chapters, because I was afraid that I'd have to begin sleeping with one eye open if I ended that one too soon.  lol.

But, yay...tickling...I love Harry.  I know he's squirmy and annoying, but I just love him.

Thanks for the amazing review!  Now it's your turn to write... *poke poke*
