Reviews For Emerald Eyes
I loved how you wrote Hermione. And again, you and your wonderful little details make the story so much more intense, like Harry moving his cold toes further under where he was sitting to get warm. Harry is such a wonderful and conflicted character, he'd like to just be a kid, but at the same time, doesn't much like being treated as just another student by Snape. Great chapter hon! Tracy
Author's Response: LOL... I know exactly what you mean. I think any story that has a reluctant, seemingly uncaring Severus actually being *gulp* kind and caring to a child just gives you those warm fuzzies, mainly because it's so uncharacteristic of him. There are so many Severus-mentors-Harry stories where I sit there like....Oh, that was so nice of him...even though he's, well, not being nice about it. ;) It's odd. I'm so happy to see that you're still reading and enjoying this story! Thank you for the feedback :)
I've also posted a story here, so R&R if you'd like, thanks! Author's Response: Thank you very much for letting me know that you are reading my story! I appreciate all reviews regardless how early or late they come :) I'm getting ready to read your new story. It looks really good! Thanks again for the review!
Author's Response: Thanks, Eva! Glad you enjoyed this chapter :)
Author's Response: Hm...Are you referring to Harry when he couldn't go back to sleep and was shivery? If so, that was mostly due to his restless thoughts about the basilisk. But to answer your question, no, he's not catching a cold ;) Thanks so much for reading and reviewing this chapter!
Author's Response: Hi Beth! Thanks so much for reading this chapter and leaving me feedback. I'm so happy that this story is one of your favorites :) I appreciate the enthusiasm!
Also this struck me as particularly well-phrased: "...the accusatory tone that was trying to punch its way out of Harry’s throat again" - what a pithy description of how it feels to struggle to keep your voice calm when you're angry! Author's Response: I agree with you about no one being aware of the basilisk in CoS! How in the world could Hermione be the only one to figure it out? lol. Oh, well... I guess that's what fanfic is for ;) I'm so glad you appreciated the Snape/Harry interaction! I do try to always keep them in character while slowly building their relationship. And thanks so much for picking out a particular line in the story! That really helps me know what sort of descriptions work well and are vivid in the reader's mind. :) Your review is simply lovely! Thank you!
Author's Response: Oh, yes, I am quite the Bonding Queen of Fluff when it comes to this story....sometimes. ;) I try to keep the sweet moments in this fic as subtle as possible, because sometimes I just can't stand the snuggly stuff. lol. You're definitely right about both Harry and Snape being slightly unaware of their growing relationship. They haven't really stopped to realize how much they depend on and care for each other. But I guess that would be too perfect if Snape just took Harry home and made him tea and cookies... We'd love it, but so much for the realism.. ;) Thanks so much for all of your great reviews! I love them! |
