Reviews For Emerald Eyes
I'll be sad when this one is over! Tracy
Author's Response: Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying the story :)
Cheers, Delaine Author's Response: Hello again :) Thanks for reviewing at both sites. I do love Potions and Snitches because its so accessible and friendly. You definitely nailed the t-shirt scene. I love it how you understand exactly what I try to portray in every snippet of each chapter. You're amazing :)
Author's Response: I'm so happy that you think my ideas are still creative, as my brain feels literally drained of any spark of imagination as of late. lol. The opening scene with Ron and Hermione was meant to be subtle and left up to the reader to decide what was 'discussed' on the other side of the portrait, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it :) The next chapter will open with a Ginny/Harry scene, so many questions will be answered with that, I hope. I reread the end of CoS yesterday and had forgotten how distraught Ginny was by the end of the book. Poor thing. Well, I do have to say that receiving such lovely feedback makes ME rather happy as well :) So thank you for sticking with this story for so long and for continuing to let me know that you are enjoying. I appreciate it it a lot, Beth!
Author's Response: Thank you :)
Author's Response: Hi Lindsey :) Thanks for the fabulous review! Severus really is quite the parent...in his own Snapeish way, I suppose..lol. The thing that's a bit comical is that he's a bit clueless, as is Harry. It's as if the relationship is developing unconsciously. ;) I'm actually started feeling better right before I ate dinner; so I think I may just be recovering....finally. But thank you for wishing me well! I hope you also feel better :)
Rolling his eyes for the second time that evening, Snape reached over and pinched the hem of Harry’s shirt between a thumb and forefinger, tugging gently. Relaxing his knuckles, Harry watched as the cotton slid easily over his hands and back down to hang by his waistband." I just love that visualization. I also liked that bit when Snape presses his three fingers against Harry's "squashed cheek" forcing his head back around and then Harry works the tingle out of it again. I just love the details, Jade! Ron and Hermione were priceless here. You do them so perfectly. Ron is such a moron, I just adore it. LOL And Snape is sure learning a fair bit of patience when dealing with our little Harry Potter, isn't he now? What an amazing amount of restraint he has grown into. I loved Dumbles too, with Harry not even having to look at him to know he disapproved of Harry's cheek. I am really worried about Ginny but so proud of Snape for listening to Harry and of Harry for calming down enough to be reasonable. These two are growing so much. Such a lovely chapter...just perfect. Now, on the customary question: SFS? *raises eyebrow* LOL Author's Response: Oh, goodness...what can I say... Your reviews always make me smile :) And I love that you particularly enjoyed one of my favorite moments as well. I love writing a discreetlytender!Snape. It's quite fun. lol. And there's something about Harry and his smushed cheeks thats just adorable and innocent. I'm sure Harry would probably chuck something at me for saying that. Ron...a moron...that made me laugh. I do write him as a bit of a dolt, don't I? I don't always mean to make him out that way, but it just seems to happen. lol. The growth in Harry and Severus's relationship is slow-moving, but I think it would take at least that long for them to be able to be decent with each other and maybe even start to care a litte. I'm so glad you liked this chapter :) Thank you for letting me know. As for SfS, I may just begin typing up the next chapter tomorrow, as I have that day off too. I'll try my hardest ;)
“What?” the boy cried. He shifted around so his seat was nearly hanging off the edge of his cushion. His right hand clutching the top of the backrest to steady himself, Harry gaped at his professor in confusion. I can picture it perfectly in my head....and I love it! It makes the characters seem very much human. And as always your harry, snape and dumbledore are flawless and I loved the little quarrel between ron and hermoine it was so very believable and rons reaction to seeing snape when he got out of the common room made me smile =) oh and when snape give harry that little speech/lecture/reprimand it was really wonderful! How snape was so...snape-ish yet so caring. Good boy snape! aww snape's blushing now xD and you get a gold star cause you're just bloody amazing!! ( It's a huge honor lol) Author's Response: Thank you for the wonderful review! Portraying the characters as 'real' people is something I try to do, so I'm glad that you are able to make that connection as you read. The opening scene with Ron and Hermione was meant to be vague--sort of a moment where you could use your imagination about what was being said behind the portrait...lol. But I'm very glad that you enjoyed that small scene :) It's funny how a stern, harsh Snape can be seen as caring, but it's true. It may not seem like it, but he really is using as much patience as he possesses with Harry. And some days it takes more effort than others. ;) I really appreciate your feedback; it's always so encouraging and positive and really helps me get crackin' on the next chapter. So thank you for that :)
I am enjoyin this and I am sorry you are sick. Something nasty is going around. My husband is on his third go around. Author's Response: Yes, something is definitely going around here, in the schools especially, and I unfortunally caught it. Finally. But I've been resting for two days and I'm beginning to feel a lot better, so thank you :) You're completely right about Harry and his lack of respect, I think. I actually believe that's one of the reasons that adults like to group all children together as 'disrespectful' because there are those select few who never learn how to show mutual respect. As a teacher, I try to explain that to my students all of the time, even though I'm not terribly older than they are. I still get mistaken as a teenager all of the time (boo). But anyway, I think Snape has learned a few lessons this year about the 'mutual respect' thing especially ;) Thanks for the review! I'm glad you're still enjoying this. |
