Reviews For Emerald Eyes
Swiping at a bead of melted snow on his forehead with a gloved knuckle, Harry frowned as he perused his professor’s everyday robes. “You’re not wearing one either,” the boy mildly argued. He brushed the snow away from his hair, shivering as the cold wetness seeped into his scalp. “You don’t even have a coat on.” “Completely irrelevant.” lol. Class. Poor Harry. So they're off on a treasure hunt Snape and Potter.. ohhh, this should be fun. :) Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Cecilia! :) That small scene was one of my favorites to write in this chapter...where Snape shows concern in his own masked way...lol. And yes, they're off on a hunt, I suppose; although who knows how far they'll actually get before Snape gets fed up and shoves Harry in the Floo.. ;) It's great to see that you're still reading. I appreciate your feedback!
Author's Response: I love all of your enthusiastic feedback! :) Thank you so much. I should have a new chapter up sometime this week!
Author's Response: Cute in a...strained, awkward sort of way? Awesome. I agree. LOL. Thanks for reading!!
Author's Response: The next chapter will begin with a discussion between Harry and Severus that will hopefully iron out a lot of the tension revolving around their mentor-ish relationship. And yes, you're right. Harry doesn't fully understand Severus' intention, but subconsciously, he knows that he's being cared for. I'm glad you're liking the story. Thanks for letting me know!
Author's Response: I'm actually really happy that you considered Harry's small act of passing on the notes 'mature'. Yes, he acts like a boy in this fic who often doesn't have a clue, but it's not as if he isn't making an effort. ;) Thanks so much for the review! It's good to see you're still reading and enjoying :)
I really liked this chapter. I say that for each one I think but it's the truth. The scene with Hermione trying to help Harry out with the letters when there wasn't a lot of time made me snicker. Leave it to Hermione to find a way to bring books into everything. I am curious why Draco was annoyed as he was leaving. Did I miss something? By far the Snape/Harry interactions are my favorites. They each don't quite know how to act around one another. I was holding my breath through the scene on the steps. Bravo, to Harry for his Grif bravery. When he flung himself at Snape and the disfunctioning part hindered Snape's reaction at first. Bravo too for Snape for letting the kid in. I'm going to go reread and melt all over again. Thank you!! Author's Response: Wow, thanks for the great review! Writing the Harry/Severus interaction is my absolute fave, so I'm really glad you enjoy those bits of the story :) You've pretty much nailed it: they don't know how to act around each other. Harry is still his defiant, hasty self, and Snape is snarky and aloof. However, they've changed in subtle, gradual ways that neither of them realize. Oh, and the Draco issue will be covered next chapter. Chapter 28 will begin with a much-needed discussion between Harry and Snape and the question will be answered. I should have mentioned that in a note at the end, but I just wanted to get this chapter posted as it had been a while ;) Thanks for asking about that. And thank you for your compliment about my characterization of Snape. I, too, see him as a stern professor, but with Harry, he's a bit at a loss with how to deal with him, because it's not like he's ever grown close to a student (besides Draco). This next chapter will iron things out. I've been waiting forever to write it. lol. I love that you're still enjoying this story, and I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know!
Author's Response: Thanks, Beth!! Yes, this chapter was definitely on angst-overload at the end, but it was one of those moments that was also rather cathartic for me to write, as I have felt that the tension has been coiling for quite some time. You'll see a bit of a change in attitude after this chapter from Harry and Snape. Harry will truly have to prove that he can handle the situation without being dangerously impetuous... I am so glad you're still enjoying this story so much :) Thanks for all of your reviews and encouragement.
Author's Response: Thanks!! You're exactly right about the relationship between Harry and Severus growing in a more parental sort of way. That's mainly why Harry feels comfortable enough to be cheeky with Severus more than he should. However, the next (final) few chapters will test Harry's ability to truly listen and follow instructions. It will prove whether or not he's actually learned anything from Snape after all. ;) Thanks again for the great review! By the way, I've reviewed, but I just wanted to reiterate that your new story is fantastic. I can't wait to see what you do with it! |
