    I love your writing style!
I think your doing a wonderful job of ....uhm i m not really sure how to put it...i like the way snape and harrys relationship is progressing. unlike some other fanfictions ive read where they develop this amazing bond virtually over night you have it moving slow;y and graduualy and it seems way more plausable than others. Also i havent noticed any grammar or spelling errors....granted thats not much coming from me. thank you for posting your truly AMAZING story!!! i love reading it and cant wait for the next update!

    Author's Response:

Thank you, Molly :)  I'm really glad you're enjoying the slow-paced feel of this story.  It's easy to rush developments in relationships when you're writing, and sometimes it feels as if the progression of the 'bond' is taking forever, but I think with Severus and Harry it *would* take a while for the two to come to terms.

Hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry, hurry!! Now that I've finally gotten to your last chapter (with none already waiting), I'm chewing on my fingernails as pitifully as little Harry!
Seriously? Keep up the good work!

    Author's Response:

LOL..Poor Harry and his nibbling habits. ;)  I'm so glad you're enjoying my story.  Thanks for sticking through all twenty-eight chapters!  I've got the next chapter planned out and will begin working on it soon!

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!

Sorry it took me so long to review this chapter. I've been really busy with work and school. Its almost over (thank god) at least for the summer.

Anyway, great chapter. I loved the last sentence. So many emotions were conveyed or at least unveiled during this chapter that the entire 'hiatus' regaurdless of how small, is very important. I think so at least (I could be wrong especially since the story isn't over). This chapter seems to be a turning point. Severus actions, the small ones, like his hestitancy with some words or his expressions say so much about how he's warmed-up to Harry. And Harry's entire little...tantrum (from the last chapter) shows the readers so clearly what he doesn't even notice.

Wonderful chapter and I can almost see this story coming to an end now. (Not that I want it to). But it seems to be coming full circle. I can see an end in sight and I'm both excited and sad.

Great chapter and please update soon.

    Author's Response:

No prob. :)  I totally understand about being busy.  My last semester of college kicked my butt last Spring, and it was a total relief to make it to summer vacation.  So hang in there!

I appreciate that you took the time to read and review my latest chapter.  This was definitely an emotional chapter, but I feel it was definitely necessary for Harry to understand that adults (especially Snape in this story) just don't restrict and punish him for no reason.  It's difficult to understand that at twelve, and that's why Snape brought up Harry's parents.  You're right about this chapter being a turning point, even though there are only two more chapters left.  Well three, I guess, if you include the Ep.  ;)

I'm actually planning a sequel that will begin during the summer before Harry's third year.  So although this particular story is coming to a close, there will be a new one beginning.  But not until *my* summer, I'm afraid, as I really want to try to get some more chapters written of my other story.  You know...and get some RL stuff done. LOL.

I promise to work as hard as I can to crank out a new chapter soon :)  Thanks for the review, Tiffany!

This whole chapter had me smiling. Snape is trying so hard and it's paying off. Not too sure either one of them realizes it though.

Their talk together was sweet. Severus is turning out to be quite the patient man. Harry seems to have this little war going on inside. Where half of him wants to be independent making his own choices and the other half is almost willing to give that power over to Snape. Almost.

The reason for Draco's upset makes perfect sense now, poor kid. Stuck during the holidays with an elderly uncle.

Thanks for the update. I'll miss this story when it's over. Having three more chapters to look forward to though is great.

    Author's Response:

Your review had *me* smiling... LOL.  I'm so glad you were able to read this chapter so quickly after it was posted.  :)  You've basically nailed the whole point of this story, and it's that Snape doesn't necessarily realize how he's helped Harry...not really.  That's why Harry throwing himself at him really shocked him and threw Snape off-guard.  And yes, Harry is definitely torn between allowing himself to settle into his twelve-year-old persona and acting independently and rashly as he always has.  There's a lot of tension that revolves around this entire story, I've realized, but I suppose that would only be natural in a fic that involves Harry and Snape trying to come to terms with each other.

I'm really glad you thought the small Draco moment made sense, even though he wasn't a big character in this story ;)

I have plans for a sequel that will begin during the summer before Harry's third year, but I won't be able to begin writing it for another month or two, probably.  Hmmm...I hope everyone sticks around until then...LOL.

    Thanks for the awesome feedback!

YAY Great chapter, Jade. This really was a very calm chapter, and because it reminded me so much of the mood of SFS, it's now one of my favorites of EE. You really did a lovely combination of Stern/Soft Sev and Defiant/Eager Harry. I really enjoyed the flow of this, the slowness and the interaction between the two of them.
"Maybe I shouldn’t have called him an idiot, the boy piteously ruminated. At least he wasn’t being dragged off for the dreaded soap…yet."--This line made me giggle. Poor Harry, thinking after he acts. LOL And I am very proud of Sev for not getting too angry with Harry. He is really learning to be such a better, calmer person.

I loved that Snape tried to talk to Harry about his parents. Especially the sacrifice they made for him and that Harry is finally getting what it means to be a kid and have to trust in others to take care of him. Something he's never had. And yet, you do all of that learning between them so subtly. It really is a enjoyable to read.

I loved, loved the part with Harry realizing that Draco didn't even get to stay and yet HE did. It was a lovely moment where Harry realizes that Snape cares about him.

I adore this part, "Lifting his eyes warily, Harry focused on his professor’s chin. “…for keeping me here.” He shrugged, suddenly feeling rather shy and ungrateful. “And for letting me help you find the entrance to the Chamber… I really didn’t mean to freak out on you before.”

Snape’s throat muscles rippled as he cleared his throat lightly. “Eyes up, Potter.”

Suppressing a flinch, Harry gave him a heavy-lidded flicker of acknowledgment. He waited for Snape to say something, but the man only studied the freckled, emerald eyes for a time before bowing his head once in an idle nod. Wordlessly, Snape delved into the cavernous pocket of his robes and extracted the clasped locket that Harry had discarded. Separating the chains with his fingertips, the man simply leaned forward and slipped it over the boy’s head for the second time."--This is just so full of tension and emotion. I can just feel the two of them so full of tension and some understanding. And When Snape tells him that he is keeping the locket this time and Harry accepts that, it's like the two of them are accepting a deal, making a pact and it is wonderful.

And I know it's a small detail, but it was perfect that Snape extended a hand and helped him up off the stairs. Genius. You've really paced this story well and though I'm sad to see it end, I am really looking forward to the action at the end. I am very excited. Wonderful chapter as always Jade. It was so perfect. Poignant and really satisfying. Thanks! :oD

    Author's Response:

In relation to what we appreciate in a piece of writing, we are so alike, it's scary...LOL. But that's a GOOD thing, as you know what a ridiculously obsessed fan I am of your lovely LC series :) The part that you pointed out was my favorite to write in this chapter, and it's the paragraph I felt the best about, as this chapter was a challenging one.

And yes, Harry always thinks after he acts, and for some reason, I just love that about him... It makes him so incredibly twelve and impulsive....and a Potter. But at least he gives these things thought at all...lol.

This was definitely a slow-moving chapter, but like I said, it really reminded me of writing a Sirius/Harry scene, and in that aspect, I suppose I had to draw my inspiration from whatever I tap into to write SfS. Which, I guess that makes it sound like I have mutiple writing personalities or something... lol. But in a way, I do. Though, it tickles me to death to learn that this chapter is one of your favorites. I was concerned about how it would go over.

As for Draco, I really didn't want to make him a central character, but I think his involvment was necessary in Harry's realization that Snape does care enough to keep him away from his relatives over Chrismtas break. When I first got into the HP series, I was a really big Draco fan, and then I sort of just...couldn't stand him... It was a bizarre transition. LOL. I think the more I read Harry and Snape fanfiction, I just began to adore the interaction between the two of them a ton more than the other.

Oh...and I love you for picking up on the small detail of the extended hand. Yay! I feel like most of the sweet moments between Harry and Snape in this story are unintentional...or maybe subconscious.

I am planning a sequel (did I tell you?), but it will begin during the summer of Harry's third year, hence the epilogue for the remainder of this story. But I probably won't have time to begin it until *my* summer vacation. LOL. More time to work on SfS, I suppose ;)

You're the greatest, Tabitha. Thanks for everything. :)

    Glad to see you updated!

I like how you put so much detail in your chapters, and that you allow us to understand how the characters are feeling so well. Harry and Snape certainly are having some development in thier relationship, poor Harry was quite confused for a bit. I'm sad to hear there will be only a few chapters more, I hope you make a sequel ^^.

I can't wait to see what will happen in their search for the Chamber! Should be an interesting affair once they find it.

    Author's Response:

Hi, Beth :)  I'm glad you got a chance to read this chapter, and I so appreciate the feedback!  I have plans for a sequel that will begin during the summer of Harry's third year.  The epilogue for this particular story will take place only a few months after the events in these last couple of chapters, so not a whole lot to infer... ;)

I do try to work with the details as much as I can, so I'm glad you enjoy that about this story.  Thanks for letting me know what liked this time around!
