Reviews For Emerald Eyes
Author's Response: One of the things I tried to focus on during the almost-lie scene is the fact that Harry would have felt awful...it wasn't really about obeying or else... And I'm really glad that you picked up on that :) Also, Harry never really comes out and says that he cares for Snape...I don't think canon Harry would be able to do that either. So it's more about his actions. And yes, Severus still makes mistakes, hence the Myrtle scene. He's not father-of-the-year, and he never will be (at least not in this story...lol) But he has good intentions...they both do. And again, you've nailed the whole purpose of this story quite well ;) Thanks so very much for letting me know that you're reading my story. I appreciate the review!!
Cecilia Author's Response: Yay! I'm quite tickled it's your favorite. :) LOL. I love writing the heartwarming stuff but have had to really restrain myself considering this is Harry and Snape we're talking about... It's been difficult, let me tell you. ;) I've got one more chapter and an epilogue until I'm finished. I meant for this to be my final chapter, but I didn't want to post a chapter any longer than 4000 words, so I just decided to split it up. So yes, I'm definitely almost finished... *sniffle* It's sad. But I love that you've enjoyed this story. I've had sketchy thoughts about a sequel, but I haven't planned anything definite. I promise I'll keep thinking about it, though. Thanks so much for the fab review, Cecilia :)
Author's Response: Terribly sorry for the wait. I usually don't take that long in between updates, but real life just got in the way. *flicks it away like a bug* :) Thank you for reading my latest chapter and providing me with some feedback. I'm so happy you're enjoying the story and I appreciate that you took a moment to share your thoughts.
So, does summer vacation mean the next chapter is right around the corner? :D Author's Response: *hugs back* Thank YOU for the wonderful feedback :) I'm glad you had fun reading, because this story is packed full of so much angst. It's refreshing when I learn that a reader was able to laugh or smile while wading through all of the depressing goo. Yeah, Myrtle would drive anyone insane. She bugs me in the books and especially the movies, but that just means that the actress did a superb job of interpreting her character. As for the next update, I *promise* that'll I'll try to get it out soon. I'm off for the summer before my job starts in the fall, so I've got a lot of free time on my hands. I want to update my other story first, but this one will be next in line; although, I'm not to excited to update it, because then that means it'll be over :(
Author's Response: Thank you! Oh, I don't consider *any* review to be worthless. I don't really understand why authors get so tetchy if readers don't provide them with seveny-two paragraphs full of constructive criticism and ways to improve. I'm just glad ya like it :) And I appreciate that you took a moment to tell me so.
Author's Response: Hey, Kathy :) Yes, yes, I finally posted. It took me for-freakin'-ever. I know. I'm sorry. I'm off for the summer and I totally spent the first two days typing like a little weirdo in the corner of my favorite coffee shop. We're talking three-four hours a day in the same spot. LOL. And, oh...the finger flick. My parents never did it to us, but I could so see Snape doing it to that little pesky annoyance attached to his backside... AkA Harry. But of course, he's still concerned about him. He may not blatantly state that he loves Harry or that he wants the best for him, but in this case (allow me to be oh-so cliche) *hem hem* Actions speak louder than words. Oops, almost missed your question...young Tom. Well, no, not really. Not in the Chamber. And that's mainly because Dumbledore has the diary. Well, I'm very glad you enjoyed. And I appreciate your lovely review!
The last parts of this really tugged at me. Especially the parts where Harry thinks that Snape is not as scary looking as he thinks he is but really he looks betrayed at the thought of Harry lying to him. And I just love that no matter what, Harry can't stand to lie to him. So wonderfully done, and yet you don't spell it out for us. We just know. And the line, "you will not fail her twice', with Snape lifting his chin and softening his eyes' as much as he knew how." and then promising to return...well, it wrenched at me. You really know how to bring out the emotions. *sigh* I loved your Myrtle. Perfect and it was so intense when Harry was falling through the hole there. And Snape jumped in after him without another thought! I loved it. It was a wonderful chapter and I can just see why you loved writing it so much. It was so much fun...everything I love rolled into one marvelous chapter. I soooo do not want this to end, Jade! *sniffles* Author's Response: *sobs* I don't want it to end either!! LOL Again, sorry I didn't send this to you first. I really thought you would be coming back from vacation...plus, I didn't want to bog you down with picking out my annoying little word skips. You know, busted computer and all... But hey, I'm glad you liked this ;) I sort of just realized how slowly their relationship is developing, and for a while, I was hoping it wasn't dragging along. But isn't that how relationships work? And with Harry and Snape, well, come on...it'd take forever. So subtle it is, subtle it will stay, I suppose. :) The ending...well, I meant to continue this chapter, but I couldn't. I wanted it to end there. And I know I'm probably the biggest cliffhanger loser around, but seriously, it was a significant moment, and of course, you caught on right away. By the way, I finally pieced together the DQ nickname you've been dubbed with. It takes me a while to catch on to those sorts of things...LOL. Not even kidding. I'm so glad you're back from vacation. Our virtual banter is quite inspiring. Thanks, Tabitha!! *squeezes you* |
