Reviews For Emerald Eyes
Author's Response: Hi! And thanks very much for reading and reviewing :) I'm glad you find the story entertaining! Good luck with all of your work ;)
Let's see if I can pick out my favorite parts. Snape telling Harry that he knew he was up to something, and then Snape's proclamation of "I knew it!" when he finally caught Harry. That moment was great, and I could see the pleasure on Snape's face at the satisfaction of being right. Nothing is greater for an adult than being right, and I think Snape was glad that he had not been mistaken the whole time and that his "rightness" was not in danger. Ron and Hermione were cute as well. The part where Harry's Cloak got caught in the door was very scary, and I kept thinking "run, run, you silly boy!" I liked that Ron knocked over the armor, and I could picture Hermione's face when she heard it. Snape's reaction fit wonderfully. I was so glad he didn't yell, didn't waste time lecturing, just marched Harry down to his office and prepared to punish him. Making Harry bend over his lap was a great touch as it showed Snape wanting Harry to understand that he had got himself in trouble and he was responsible for his own actions. After reading this chapter, I began to shake my head over ATAPTG. I finished it a while ago, but after your story, I wish I could go back and make my Snape less talkative and more a silent authoritive figure like yours. And the ending seemed so realistic with Harry crying way too hard, and Snape knowing something was amiss. Please hurry and write the next chapter so I can see how Snape reacts. I really don't to write more until I see more from you. Well Done Author's Response: Wow...this review is awesome in all kinds of ways. Thanks very much for it! I tried to write the punishment scene as realistically as possible. And don't you shake your head at Time and Place! lol...Your story inspired me! But I'm incredibly flattered that you find my Snape believable. And okay...let's just type our chapters at the same time and post at the end of the week. That would be quite lovely. Thanks again for reading and reviewing!
Author's Response: Yes, long chapters are better, aren't they? :) Thanks for reading and reviewing! Glad to see you're enjoying the story.
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the great review! I've had this chapter planned out, at least the very end of it, for a long time. I tried not to overdose on the fluff factor of this chapter, but I'm glad it worked for you! Thanks again ;)
Author's Response: I will! I got your story, and it's great! Thanks for reading and reviewing!!
WONDERFUL WORK! Please update soon... I can hardly wait! Author's Response: Thanks for the awesome review! I really go for the realism thing, so I'm glad you're getting that vibe as you read my story. I'll update as soon as I can. Curse real life...lol.
I think you manage to keep Snape close to character so well, this line made me laugh out loud: "Potter looked pathetic. The man was almost half-tempted to shrug him off." Author's Response: I added that line at the very last minute this morning! lol. And yes, it was eventually going to happen, hence the warning and Harry's sporadic stupidity. Oh, well. Time to recover from it :) Thanks for the review!
I like Snape's grabbing Harry's hand to keep him from popping his knuckles. I enjoyed the way that you made it deliberately unclear as to whether Harry was doing it to annoy Snape or whether Harry did it just because he was annoyed. Great how Snape didn't yell, but held his fingers as if Harry was a naughty five-year-old. The putting his head down on the table was a terrific ending. It said so much about how Snape viewed the boy - as an almost out-of-control child that needed a time-out. I can see how everything was adding up against Harry and he felt overwhelmed. I think the two swats helped him snap back to reality, and hopefully Snape will straighten him out in the near future. Harry seems to suffer from a great deal of stress, but I bet Snape will catch on before anyone else can. Good job! Author's Response: Hi! Thanks for such an awesome review :) I believe, even in canon, that Snape is perceptive, and even though he may not let on, he is careful about the way he reprimands...well, in my story anyway...lol. I altered the last part of this chapter several times, and finally came up with the "head down" conclusion. If Snape would have just hauled off and given him a full-blown smacking, it wouldn't have had a very positive effect. I'm so flattered that you're enjoying my story! Like I've said before, I'm a huge, HUGE fan of your Time and Place series. I think I've read them through about ten times each..lol. Thanks again for reading and reveiwing :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I'd much rather write than do anything, so right now, I'm hating real life priorities...they just in the way. lol.
Author's Response: Thanks for the feedback! Yes, I remember it too...lol. |
