    I love these lines:

“Ah, I see…” Dumbledore offered again, mildly. He steepled his fingers in thought and gazed faraway over the tips.

“Enlighten me, headmaster, what do you see?” Severus retorted tiredly, without removing the hand from his eyes.

Written perfectly! Though yes, McGonogall will be harder to convince!

Can't wait for the second detention!

    Author's Response:

Yes, you're right.  She will be. lol.

Oooh, and I LOVE it when people refer to specific lines they enjoyed.  Thanks!

I'll have the next chapter out soon!  I appreciate the review :)

Well. Interesting. The plot thickens. The impending conversation between Snape and McGonagall should be entertaining. I will be looking forward to reading how Snape will convince her to relinquish her disciplinary authority over Harry. And I'm really looking forward to Harry's reaction. He does seem to have an idea that he escapes consequences and that must bother his conscience.

But to think that he's already found a way to continue his plotting to get into the Slytherin common room. Oh, that should be good.

I'm so glad that you will have time to do more writing in the coming week. Your updates are one of the highlights of my week.

I hope your muse moves you into high gear with your writing. Excellent job.

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review!  I appreciate your kind words...I really do.

And yes!...I'm so happy that you understand Harry's struggle with conscience.

I'll definitely update both of my stories this coming week.  Actually, I'll probably get through a couple of chapters.  I wish I had consistent free time; I have my first ever parent-teacher conferences on Mon-Wed., and I've decided to write in between appointments.

I'm so glad you're enjoying my story.  Thanks again!

I hope you do feel like procrastinating in real life cause this story is great

    Author's Response:

lol...the prospect of that is very likely.  I'm updating my other story first, but I'll have the next chapter of this one up in the next few days.  Thank you for reading, and thanks for the review :)

I was rereading your third chapter, savouring your delightful prose, when I remembered that I wanted to remark about the "spitting image" comments from Snape: are we to believe that, as usual, Snape is taunting him about his father, when it is actually Harry's mother he is seeing? I am looking forward to the way you plan to reveal these thoughts to Harry (if that is the case). I wonder, if Harry had known earlier, in the books, of Snape's friendship with his mother, would it have had a more positive effect on their relationship?

Quinn (who is avoiding the laundry to sneak in some computer time..)

    Author's Response:

    Hi again :)

The next chapter will begin from Snape's perspective and will include a visit to Dumbledore.  It will all come together.  I meant for this chapter to be a bit ambiguous, as that's the kind of writing that I personally enjoy--the kind that keeps you guessing.

And yes, the "spitting image" comment referred to James; however, Snape was upset over the stolen items.  Like I said, it will make more sense in the next chapter.

Thanks for rereading the chapter!  I'm flattered that you think my prose is "delightful" :)

great story! when you made him cry at first chapter about being confused etc. that was so good! This chapter was great! i would of just left with the vials lol!

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  I'm trying out an "honesty-vibe" with Harry.  Sometimes I just get tired of reading about Harry constantly getting into trouble without giving it a second thought.  He's never accountable for anything, it seems.  But that's because no one ever demands that he accept responsibility for petty acts of defiance.

I'm glad to hear you're enjoying my story.  I appreciate the review :)

Yay! Another chapter. Poor Harry, with that glass accident, I was happy and suprised that Severus didn't assign even more detentions.

Author's Response: Yeah, Snape was surprised as well.  lol. But the incident won't go completely unnoticed.  Thanks for the reivew :)
