Reviews For The Gambler's Son
I loved the bits with Harry and Albus. Harry acts very much the way I would expect a seven-year-old to behave. The part where Harry felt terrbile about making Dumbledore disappointed was adorable. I love how you are able to keep small things in canon while creating your own amazing, original story! This line made me laugh...outloud...at Starbucks: "The man has a seed, and puts his seed inside the woman. The seed grows, like Professor Sprout’s plants do in the greenhouse." **For some reason, that just struck me as funny....the omniscient Dumbledore using such a cliched comparison. I loved it. Good lord, Harry needs to quit putting himself in danger!...he hasn't even hit double digits in age yet!..lol. Hopefully Severus relates that message without smothering it by his anger. I have a feeling that little Harry is in for quite the spanking. Am I right? By the way, I think your verion of little!Harry is possibly my favorite ever written. It's just so original! And this entire story is extremely well-written. Keep up the great work! I'm loving it. Author's Response: Hehe, it was very fun to write Dumbledore- it's weird I find him fairly easy to write, but then I'm worried about being a little cliched... Harry is definitely living up to his reputation lol. Thank you so much for your review! It's very nice to get such great compliments!
By the way, I doubt if Lily would only have only vague memories of Harry's birth. Horrible or wonderful, that experience tends to get seared into the memory, unless of course the person is too out of it with drugs. I loved Harry's questioning Dumbledore. Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing :-)
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing!
Harry is such a little conniving brat, isn't he? Thank God he's so stinking adorable. I laughed out loud at the fact that he asked so many different people where babies came from. I would love to hear everyone's version of what they told him. It's funny to think that he has so quickly found the benefits of his new situation. He reminds me a bit of Dennis the Menace in all the trouble he gets himself into. Severus and Lily definitely need to stay on their toes, which is very hard to do with a new baby. So, how did Snape find out that Harry was flying? I hope he didn't have to leave his class in order to go after Harry. I can't imagine that would leave him in a very good mood. Thanks so much for the update. I hope RL is good to you so you can update sooner. I'm anxious to see what happens next. BTW, I love how Asphodel seems to take after Severus already. I imagine she already has him wrapped around her little finger, doesn't she? Author's Response: Dell is very cute! I wish I could fast forward and make her be a toddler or young child. Maybe i'll do a sequel with Harry at Hogwarts and her aged 4 or something... Thanks for reviewing, it's great to know you're enjoying the story!
Author's Response: thank you :-)
Author's Response: Lily is being quite tough to write. I feel like I'm pushing her out of the story so I think i'll have to give her more action in the next chapter... Thanks for reviewing :-)
Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, it's really great for me that you're enjoying the story!
Thankyou Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing, it's really nice that you're enjoying the story!
You have a nice story. I like it so far, especially your characterization of Snape. He's still 'Snape-ish,' but yet he's 'nice.' Author's Response: thank you for reviewing! :-)
Poor Harry!! I wonder if he really has learned his lesson - I'm sure he'll try to be a good boy, but if Flint keeps up with his nonsense, Harry may have to get some revenge!! Hopefully, he'll know enough to sic his Daddy on him!! Terrific chapter!! Boy's name: Septimus Girl's name: Hyacinth Author's Response: Aww hope your week got better! Thanks for reviewing, it's really nice that you're enjoying the story! |
