What a lovely day you described for Harry. I loved this line: ""It's not a picnic, so don't even begin to think that." I'm afraid Severus is well and truly trapped--he's now given a 12 year-old boy he thought he hated his first happy birthday. ;-)
I LOVE that Harry is slowing breaking away at Snape's shell. He's such an irresistible kid, I love it. I'm interested to see what's going to become of his momentary rebelliousness and Snape sees all of his plants growing sporadically, lol. Ah, but I do love your stories, and I always look forward to reading more :)

Well, this has to be one of the sweeter chapters in this story. I think this story takes a rougher edge on Snape than I have seen in most of the stories I read..but that might be why I love it so much. I loved how Snape was talking about Harry in regards to his relatives. You capture Harry brillantly. I think you catch the boy behind the tragedy..rather than the tragedy behind the boy. What I mean to you say is..you make it more about who Harry is..than what Harry has gone through. XD I thought Snape was actually trying his best to be kind in this chapter which was actually amusing because your Snape is very gruff to me in this story. A little sour, gruff, but there's something behind it..like the Grinch, maybe his heart will go three sizes in one day? Keep writing! Your pal, BasiliskPrince

That was the best chapter yet! I love how Snape is so protective (while pretending not to be) of Harry, makes him drink his milk, have a bath and eat his veggies! Oh and the brushing back his wet hair is just too cute!

I really hope that they can find a way to make Snape Harry's guardian for real. Such a sweet story!

That was just a stunningly good chapter with snarky Snape trying to be his usual evil self and failing miserably. Love Vampyr.
AWWWW!! That was totally sweet and I loved it. I've still got the silly grin that settled in at the beginning. Thank you for updating. Harry's birthday was perfect.
