Reviews For Lily's Charm
Author's Response: So glad you're still enjoying. :o)
Loved the scenes with Severus tending to Harry . He can be so tender and sweet, sometimes, but don't let him hear that! Author's Response: LOL Yeah, best not to let Sev hear that! That's sorta the case here, yeah...the horcrux affecting him differently. There's a little more going on as well, but you'll have to wait right along with Harry for all the juicy details. :oP
The change of pace this chapter took…action filled…was so fascinating to me and terribly fun to read. Up to this point, OE has spent considerable time and effort (much to our delight and fanfare) building up the relationship between Harry and Severus, and it’s interesting to see how outside forces now test them. Yes, Halloween was also a time of outside influences affecting our boys, but their relationship wasn’t nearly as strong (at least from Harry’s point of view) as it is now, proved by how Harry reacted afterwards. I will continue to watch with high interest how the world now mucks with my guys and how they react to it together. Severus’ reactions at the beginning of the chapter reminded me somehow of that mother, who having realized that her child is in the road in the way of the city bus, becomes SuperMom and grabs them and throws them to safety. Because isn’t that kind of what he did when he grabbed Harry and threw him into the floo? And speaking of Severus here…that man can take charge. He puts Harry into the safest place possible in mere seconds due to Possessed Dumbledore, throws up a shield to protect Remus, subdues Dumbles, contacts Minerva and Poppy for their assistance, gets Minerva to cast a shield around the evil locket and I think he barely broke a sweat. I’m in serious lust with this guy. Yes, I know I need a life - don’t remind me. Poor Harry is just never going to get the hang of floo travel. And frankly, I couldn’t either because I have the grace of an elephant. Of course, getting flung at hyper speed doesn’t make it conducive to a picturesque landing, but heck…it’s got to be better than being in danger of a red-eyed possessed Dumbledore. *shudders* Poor Severus, he grabs Remus and heads to the safe house thinking, “Damn, I did a great job here and my son is safe” and he finds Harry sitting there with a bloody face. I could practically hear Remus gasp. (And I so wish it was as easy to mend broken bones and boo-boo’s for us as it is for wizards. Sigh.) I do wonder why the floo powder wouldn’t open for Harry, but it also gave me my favorite line from the story: “But I tried that exact incantation,” he exclaimed. “How very odd,” his father mused as he took a pinch of the Powder. Oh, I could just hear Severus saying that. And in such an innocent voice, as if Severus was innocent a day in his life. My second favorite line was Remus commenting on how Severus would never admit they were friends. Watch out Sev! You just might be calling Remus “my buddy” soon. OK, I know it will never happen but it’s amusing to think all the same, don’t you agree? I loved the cozy picture of Harry, Severus, and Remus hanging out in the safe house and discussing the horcruxes. But I won’t ponder yet if and when Severus realizes Harry is one….oh brrr….. More ponderings…why did the two horcruxes affect Dumbledore in that way? I refuse to speculate because I’m always dead wrong so I’ll have to wait until OE enlightens us some more. I’m glad I got to find out background on Pinth and what has happened to him. I’m not convinced we’ve heard the last of him but we’ll see. And Filch….why the heck does Dumbles keep him around? Even if he got a lecture from the old wizard he no doubt got a damned lemon drop or some such thing afterward. I just don’t get it. Ooh…I hate that guy. Can I shake him hard? I hope OE’s not planning on finishing this story in, let’s say, the next five chapters or so because I might need to go throw myself under a truck or something if she does. It would leave my children motherless and she’d feel awfully guilty (hint, hint). Almost forgot the hug…it goes to Harry of course. A broken nose has got to hurt like a dickens. Author's Response: Hmmm...this whole world meets boys things is giving me too many ideas....postcards, Cathy...postcards! I almost died laughing from your supermom anology...I don't think Sev would appreciate it though! LOL Where's my pic, Cathy? :oP And yeah, lust it up....me too! I love him. Yeah, Sev isn't really pleased with breaking Harry's nose. Too much guilt from his childhood. Poor guy. LOL So many questions about the Floo Powder. Hope you all enjoy the answer. I enjoyed that line too but of course I know why it wouldn't open. Hee hee. LOL about Sev calling him his buddy. Don't think so, Cathy! And lower your voice...Sev will not appreciate it! Hmmm....Is Harry a horcrux? I do believe Sev will have a heart attack if he is.... Brrrr is right. you'll have to wait to find out more about the horcruxes! Sorry.... Pinth...Hmmm. Filch....Hmmmm Five chapters you say? All right...we'll make it six! LOL Harry needs a hug, it's true. Poor nose!
Author's Response: Thanks. Horcruxes are fun, aren't they? LOL Glad you enjoyed it. :o)
Author's Response: Well, thank you very much. I really appreciate it and I'm so happy you're enjoying the story. I hope you continue to enjoy. Thanks so much as well for letting me know. :o)
Author's Response: LOL Poor Dumbledore...it's not his fault the Horcrux didn't agree with him! LOL And no, Harry can't behave himself...but seriously, Sev, you really shouldn't have expected so much. LOL Thanks for reviewing Keina! Yay! :o)
These first few paragraphs really made me nervous! I thought that "Sev" really wasn't the real Sev and he was flooing him somewhere dangerous...Voldie has wishes too...I was really scared! But then I thought back to the last chapter and it didn't make much sense that Sev would be an impersonator...so I relaxed a bit and kept reading. Poor Harry, always breaking his face, sooner or later he's going to have a nose just like Dad... Hmm...why didn't the floo box open for him? Although I suppose Sev would have some protections on the Cottage. Like if a stranger/bad guy somehow got in, this denies them an exit! Yay! (Am I right?) So was Sev's spazz him freaking out that Dumbles was possessed? Or did that happen way before Sev threw Harry into the fireplace? And then Dumbles was kinda possessed...that was freaky. But I like the twist you put on J.K....it keeps us guessing! I love Sev's punch to Dumbledore's face...that man is so logical and practical! Tee hee...it makes me laugh! I also loved how much Sev wanted to get to Harry, keeping everything short and to the point until he could leave, ensuring it would be at the first possible moment. Hopefully Sev takes it easy on Harry once he does get a chance to reprimand him for trying to leave when he said to stay put. Is the "I've had more practice" that allows Sev to communicate direct thoughts into Harry's mind a result of his more practice with Occlumency? Or if it isn't what is it from? I loved Remus in those closing lines of his...poor guy, but I think at least that Sev realizes Remus considers him a friend...even if he himself doesn't call Remus a friend. Tee hee! Silly Sev! Something I don't understand is Dumbledore's reaction to Sev's: “After your reaction to the locket Albus, it seemed unwise to give possession to anyone close to Harry.” Would you mind expanding that for me? I just don't get why Dumbles would react so strongly, because this means that he IS close to Harry although Minerva isn't...but I don't get why that would bother him. Have Dumbledore and Sev been at odds with each other over Harry's treatment at the Dursley's? It seems as if they just kinda made up over it...with Sev's refusal to talk about it, even though he brought the subject up. *sigh* I just don't know about these guys. Pinth the bully...heahea.. Sev's obvious reluctance, more like outright refusal to use the charm is curious to me...does it really put Harry in that much danger? Granted, he's gotta hang out with Voldie for a period of time (but they don't even know for sure if Harry can cast it, or do they?) and that no doubt wouldn't be pleasant. But, really, when is Sev just going to do it?! You know that Harry's got to face Voldie at some point in time to defeat him because of the prophecy anyway...just make it easier and save some time with a teeny increase in danger and death and torture and do it NOW with the Charm! But then again, don't do it now, otherwise there'd be like two more chapters in the story...in that case I'd expect you to write a sequel...well, I still actually expect you to write a sequel! Ok, I think I've reached my limit! Have fun working on the next chapter...I have no idea what you've got planned...and I hate it! So drop us some hints on the Yahoo board, please! Have a good weekend! Author's Response: PK, you're too funny. Short? Don't think so! LOL Okay, let's see, to answer all your questions: --No, Dumbles and Sev haven't been at odds over the Dursleys per se, though Sev did yell at him about it once and Sev told him he should apologize. And Dumbles, though the last many chapters has been somewhat subdued, since way back when he almost got Remus killed. He cares about Harry but Harry has not been pleased with him lately and basically Sev was just trying to tell Dumbles, in his own bumbling way that he tried to explain to Harry that Dumbles didn't mean to hurt him and giving him permission to talk to Harry about it. There was a couple times (subtly) though some of the chapters that Dumbles has wanted to talk to Harry, but Sev denied him, because Harry would have just gotten angry about it. And, don't forget also that Dumbles has possession of one of the Horcruxes and without meaning to, Sev implied that that is okay as Dumbles is not close to Harry...at least with all this going on about the Dursleys and such, that's how Dumbles took it. Severus didn't really mean it that way though. But it is sorta true anyway. So, that makes Dumbles feel badly. Again, even though he's a bit of a coot, he does care about Harry. *shrug* The Charm: Okay think of it this way. If they attempted to use the Charm and it doesn't work...they've sorta lost their advantage and their element of surprise. That does put Harry in danger as he needs to be right there with Voldy to activate the Charm, or at least they assume... I thnk as well, Sev is in a bit of denial of Harry having to kill Voldy. Why would he want to think about that. And I think too he's hoping for a loose interpretation of the prophecy. It doesn't actually say Harry will kill Voldy, not that word specifically. LOL That Floo Box will be explained next chapter. LOL Yeah, Sev does realize Remus considers him that way and it makes him very, very uncomfortable. LOL Glad you liked Dumbles getting punche. Hee hee. ANd of course, Sev wanted to get to Harry. Yay, Sev Dad! Um, the practice Sev was referring to was yes the Occlumency but also because he did share a similar connection with Lily, so he does have some practice with a mind connection thing, though of course, Lily didn't share his talent so it was nowhere near as developed. Thanks for the review, PK. Hope that all made sense! :o) |
