Reviews For Lily's Charm
Author's Response: LOL He would disagree of course. But, he really is rather mother hen-ish. :oP
I also like the fact that we both agree that not all Slytherins are pureblooded, evil puppets of Voldemort. The House has an undeserved reputation, and I like how you point out that thereare both good and bad members of it, like in any other House. I made it a point to state those same sentiments in my fic, Hide Yourself Away. Ambition in and of itself is not evil, in fact you need it if you are to succeed at anything, otherwise you go nowhere. Author's Response: Yeah, actually I think that is a very interesting point. I was researching a bit for this chapter and was reading the sorting hat song thing and the main point of Slytherin was the ambition thing. I think that is a pretty obnoxious way of trying to say ambition breeds evil. Heck, my hubby is finishing up his MD and before that he got his PhD...very ambitious but I wouldn't call hiim evil! LOL Okay, so that's simplistic but the point it....I hate the way the Slytherins are characterized in the story. Only 2 turned out good in the whole batch? (5 if you count the Malfoys at the end but they're a bit iffy). And only 1 bad Gryffindor? LOL Pretty stupid. Okay, end rant. Glad you enjoyed the 1981 scenes. I love those so much. They are fun. Thanks for the review!
Author's Response: LOL I will try. Yay that you're caught up though. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :o) Thanks for all the reviews.
Author's Response: LOL That would be hilarious. Hee hee. I love it. I'm going to work on that, though Cathy would probably love a stab at that as well. That reallly tickled me. Thanks!
And it was great to see the guys exploring the house together. I'm curious about James' possessions...what are they and will we see them again? Do they have anything to do with the plot? I'm glad to see that Harry realises he got off easy with his 'punishment' and that he is enjoying the time with his dad. I do know that Harry has to learn to control his emotions and understand the importance of that in relation to defeating Voldemort, but I'm just can't feeling that Harry doesn't really deserve to be punished for the fight with Plinth (or whatever his name was). He was severely provoked...I don't know that Severus himself would have resisted, for all his vaunted self-control, we have seen him lose it a couple of times, too...and Harry was just beginning to recover from an extremely difficult time. Anyway, I think Severus' response in having Harry stay with him in the evenings was perfect. He can justify to himself that he did something, that he didn't just let Harry off scott-free, but it's not really, truly a 'punishment', just a chance for them to spend more time together and continue to get to know one another. Loved seeing Harry interact with the young Slytherins, too! That was great, and I can't wait to see what's going to happen next with Draco, his mission, and the Malfoy family. Author's Response: I can't even tell you how happy I am that you got the whole punishment thing. It wasn't really a punishment at all, at least not in Sev's mind. But he was trying to make Harry feel more normal as his mates were severely punished by McGonagall (she went a bit too far, in my opinion) and it wouldn't have done for nothing to happen to Harry. It LOOKS equal as Harry is away from his friends during the same time as Ron and Neville. And yep, Sev knows he would have done the same. He barely restrained himself from killing at least 3 people this week. (Pinth, Filch and that Scorpius dude who said Harry should have just died), so yeah he doesn't blame Harry. Anywho, glad you saw all that. I love when that happens. The 1981 scene was so fun. I can't resist baby Harry! James' possessions are up next. That's all I'll say about that. Yay that you liked the Slytherins. I think I can just picture Harry being good with little kids. Don't know why really. Draco of course, is up next again. Thanks for reviewing!
Author's Response: Thanks. He really is the fatherly type yay! Especially in this story as he is recapturing what he used to be. Glad you enjoyed it and happy to give you a nice Sunday morning present! Thanks for letting me know you're still enjoying! :o)
Author's Response: LOL Poor Draco. Can't even get any sympathy. Don't worry, unicorn. Draco has his own family. :oP
I liked the interaction between Harry and Severus. Harry seems much more comfortable with Severus and willing to let Severus be his dad. I'm not sure what's happening with Draco and Moody. Did you previously tell us what Moody's role was and I've just forgotten? or will all be revealed in later chapters? The plot is thickening . . . Author's Response: The order members have sorta been guarding Draco for awhile now. ANd Moody doesn't like Draco and really just thinks it will be easier for him to get something on him and send him away instead of dealing with his antics. He has no other role really. Just a order member who's tired of babysitting and doesn't think the Malfoys should be trusted. Harry is definitely content with Severus as his dad. He's proved himself enough at this point. Yes, the plot is thickening a bit. Glad you enjoyed! Thanks for reviewing! |
