What a tough moment for Severus at the end of the chapter.

I find myself exceptionally curious about Hermione and Ron's reactions earlier in the chapter. Oh, and I do not like that chapter ending - seems rather ominous to me. Poor Severus.

Great chapter all around; humor, a little romance, a dash of intrigue, a dose of angst - what more can a girl hope for?

Why do you most often leave things on cliffies? *pokes* Double-drat :P.

This was a greta chapter, though I wa ssurprised that harry wa so willing to fogive Draco for everything. I don't think I would've!

I've finished SGWB, and it's posted in its entirety up here now!

    Author's Response:

Well, I don't really think it's forgiveness exactly.  Lucius saved Severus and the other thing is that whether or not either of them will ever admit to it, Draco and Harry (at least in this story) are a bit of kindred spirits.  Harry understands the kid a bit more and no matter what Draco's done, he is not a person who would let others suffer I think.  I wouldn't have been so nice either, but then I'm not Harry Potter (or is it Harry Snape these days...LOL)  Thanks for reviewing.

And, oh!  Didn't realze you'd finished your story. Oooh!  Thanks.

Now, I normally don't start a review with the ending of a chapter, being the orderly person I am and all. But this chapter has been the first exception to my rule because the endng has so knocked the proverbial wind out of me that I'm laying in a puddle of emotional angsty goo and I'm stuck. It won't leave my head.

Eventually, I figured it would be revealed that Harry was a Horcrux. And I should have thought more about it that Severus would put two and two together and fit the pieces to each other. But as usual OE has punched me in the gut and I never saw the angst truck speeding down the road until it ran me over. And I'm still laying here. Oh, I said that before. It's hard to type a review, though, from the floor.

Poor, poor Severus. I just felt the grief and anger and about a gazillion other emotions roll over him like the tidal wave it was. To just get his son back and to get slapped in the face that he might just lose him again that quick has to be about the worst feeling a parent can experience short of losing a child in and of itself. I'm still stuck in grief with him.

OOOO....and he tore Albus apart, word by word. I could just see the spittle coming out of his mouth when he did it. I'm not sure yet if Albus deserved it or not. It could just be he wasn't sure and didn't want to cause Severus the heartache if it weren't true. OE will be sure to enlighten us soon, no doubt. I'm not quite ready to go the manipulative Albus road just yet. Need more proof.

And I can't help but think that it has to be Harry or Albus coming through the floo. Albus wouldn't have wanted to leave things that way with Severus so it wouldn't surprise me to have him follow him. But my bets are on Harry. He would have HAD to felt that surge of emotion of Severus' and been overwhelmed and panicked by it and I could see him making a mad dash for the apartment because he is so protective of his dad. (As seen in other parts of the chapter). I'm always wrong in my guesses, so it's just as likely to be Neville as anybody else.

So back to the top of the chapter....it was fun to be a fly on the wall (sort of like Harry) and watch the scenario unfold with Draco. I don't like Draco, but OE might convince me to. *Shrugs* Stranger things have been known to happen. But it was fun to watch some favorite characters interact and see where the scene went. I haven't decided if I like this Narcissa yet or not either. OE could probably convince me to like Filch if she tried hard enough though. Harry giving Draco advice and trying to let him know he did understand Draco's situation was pure Gryffindor through and through. I'm proud of him; no wonder his dad is too.

And the conversation between Harry and Remus was so yummy. I loved how Harry felt it necessary to check and see if Remus was going to continue to try and be Sev's friend. Love that kid! And we get a proposal and a wedding! Whee!

    Funniest line:
“Yes, do,” Ginny agreed, “or I’ll tell Mum you need another little chat with Dad.”

Ron makes an amusing big brother, but Ginny makes a more amusing little sister because she can slap him back into place. I think it's a hoot that Molly mostly likely presumed it would be Ginny seducing Harry. Boy, she knows her daughter! Those saucy redheads.

(Tries to get up and fails...nope, still stuck in angst goo).

Like I even NEED to tell you who gets the hug for this chapter. Reread paragraph three. Duh!

    Author's Response:

ROFL  How'd you guess?  Neville.  *shakes head and laughs hysterically*

I do love Ginny so and Ron.  Ginny doesn't even need to try very hard to put Ron back in his place.  He's such an idiot.  I love him though.  He's fun.  I think Molly too thinks Harry is very innocent and has had such a hard life.  And yeah, she knows Ginny is a fiery one.  Hee hee.

Harry is so cute, isn't he?  Please be friends with my dad.  ROFL.  I love that kid!   And yes, proposals and weddings.  Don't ask for details because we've got way too much to hash out right now.  *sigh*

I love Draco myself...in a love to hate sorta way.  I think though here, he really is getting the short end of the stick.  He's been asked to do a terrible thing and he knows what will happen if he doesn't comply.  he really can't help but be completely messed up.  Poor kid.  I also love Narcissa because i really got from book 7 from both she and Lucius that they truly do love their son (the scene where they pay no attention to the battle and go flailing through the castle in search of him).  So, yeah, you get the tender Narcissa here but also the calculating woman who is hedging her bets and playing right along so that Harry will do what he can for them.  Just like Lucius, though really I don't think Narcissa is at all like her husband.  She's definitely a manipulator though.  She can't be all that fragile but it sure does make people sympathize with her, doesn't it?

Albus.  Did he deserve that?  Severus was pretty devastating to him, wasn't he?  We'll just have to wait and see.  But yeah, Severus was sorta out of it with rage, but more fear so he really let fly.

LOL  Angst truck.  you're funny.  I'm glad that part affected you so.  It was a really hard part to write.  Poor Sev indeed.  He definitely needs a big old hug.  I agree.  There is nothing worse than this.  I can't even imagine what it would be like having this sort of information about my child.  *shudder*

Thanks for reviewing and no more answers to your many questions!  LOL  :oP

Wow, you've really got to stop cramming so much into your chapters, or you'll never get to the end of my reviews one of these days! But this is also my new favorite chapter!! It just had so much going on in the emotions department and was a great showcase of change in the characters...it was brilliant!

I kinda don't want Harry to develop the ability to talk to Sev in his mind, because it's just too funny to see him lean over to whisper a question and to have Sev explain in his mind. You're good.

I hope that Draco takes some time to really, and I mean, really think over his conversation with Harry. I hope he realizes what Harry's willing to do for him and that he sees that he was telling the truth concerning Voldie and Dumbles.

    Oh, and Cissy was cool.

And oh, Harry for wanting to protect his father so...it's really sweet. But, it was surprising to find that those memories weren't Lily's but James' instead...hmm...what does that mean? (Are we ever going to find out what the note said, either?) And, sorry for my thickness, but what was the message around the rim of the pensive again?

And once again, sweet little Harry, looking out for his father. It was nice to hear Remus' reassurances that he would keep trying though. And he's going to propose to Tonks!! YAY!! I love weddings (as long as I don't have to play in them)! Just how many times did Tonks propose to Remus just to be turned down?

And then Remus thanking Harry for their friendship was...bliss...

Oh, and I hope we either get to hear some of these proposal plans in Harry's head or see the actual proposal!! Please?...

*sigh* Oh, overprotective, big brother Ron...he's funny.

Hermione was too in her, "I'm not listening and I won't be engaged in this conversation...I'm not listening, look at me working here..." Brilliant. Although I do hope that she's given some useful information for Harry to improve his connection with Sev...but then again I don't...tee hee!

Oh, and Ginny was awesome too! Love that girl! *laughs hysterically, becomes extremely giddy...thanks.*

Severus' despair at learning Harry was a horcrux was tangible...and extremely sad. I think too, that the question Sev raises is the right one. Did Dumbledore not tell Sev about Harry's horcrux status because he didn't think that Harry would willingly sacrifice himself? To me, this was what Dumbles did in canon, sorta. It was a lot simpler there, though. But, I do wonder how Lily's Charm is going to play into this, as well as Harry and Sev's connection. Hmm...I'll speculate more...

And who came through the Floo?! I think it could be: Remus, Harry, or Dumbles. I like the idea of Harry feeling something from his father and going to check on him...but also like that Harry experiences the same effects as Sev. That's really hard for him to deal with...I hope Sev is ok and there's a talk later that will hopefully ease his heavy heart as well as mine. I really do feel bad for Sev, I really, really do.

Well, I've got to get started with the rest of my day. But thank you for this amazing chapter, defiantly my favorite! Have a good rest of the week!

    Author's Response:

Thanks PK!  Yay, glad you enjoyed it.  And yay that's it's your new favorite.  LOL

I can't help cramming them chock full and yeah, I really like this chapter for the whole everyone has changed so much sorta thing. It was really fun to do.  Perceptions change...especially Severus...and Dumbledore and unfortuately, Harry and Remus and Ginny and Ron and Hermione....well, yeah everyone... :o(

LOL  I really liked that scene with Harry leaning over to whisper to his dad and Sev being amused and answering him mentally.  I love those two.  :o)

I enjoyed writing Narcissa.  She's fun and yeah, Draco does need to ponder this.  He just really does.  Harry is being way way nice to him and hopefully Draco won't continue to be a prat.

That note wasn't really a note...it was James jotting down the translations into Runes for the rim of the Pensieve and that around the rim was just a plea for Sev to look into the Pensieve.  It doesn't really mean anything to anyone but Severus that it was James.  It solidifies in his mind (and makes him incredibly happy) that James really did care about Severus...loved him even...so much that he wanted Severus to know what Lily couldn't risk telling him.  It hurt him incredibly to lose Severus and to know that Severus was going through such pain.  It's a huge revelation for Severus and just might help him finally manage to bridge the gap in his whatever he's got with Remus.

I don't know that Tonks proposed per se, but just kept letting Remus know she wanted to marry him and yes, I promise...you will see the proposal.  YAY!  I can't resist weddings wither.  You'll see that too, though you might just have to wait for a sequel...or you might not.   Oh and yeah, everyone's perceptions have flipped, haven't they.  Remus too!  Beautiful that friendship.

I do enjoy Ron and his overprotective bumbling and Hermione in her hyper-focused state.  LOL

I'm so glad you felt that right along with Sev.  What a hard thing to learn.  I think just like in canon, Dumbles doesn't think Harry will wilingly sacrifice himself and also because he does love Harry and it will be a very hard thing to have to live with, that sort of knowldge.  Look how badly Severus did with it.

Can't tell you who came through the Floo...or course not!  :oP  You'll just have to wait.

Thanks for another amazing review!  :o)

What an awesome chapter. The description you used in this onw is stunning. I had a ton of favorite lines, but here's one of them:

“I think they actually were friends, Remus,” Harry said to his crease, as though telling a terrible secret.

**You describe emotions in a way that's just really unique and gets the point across in just a few simple words.

I really enjoyed the scene with Draco. His defiance was so fleeting...it would flare up for a brief second and then drain away before he could do anything with it--perfect. You write Draco incredibly well. And I love it when authors make me appreciate his character. Like you have ;)

This story flows so smoothly and is so well thought-out. You've really created something great here. And although we're left with a huge cliffhanger *shakes fist* this chapter was still incredibly satisfying and complete, which is something I definitely need to work on...lol.

Your writing inspires me. So thank you for pushing through the occasional writer's block and delivering us chapter after brilliant chapter :)

    Author's Response:

*shakes head at Jade*  You do not need to work on satisfying chapters. Your chapters are always brilliant.  Ah, I'm sorta already salivating for SFS.  LOL

Actually, I'll share a little secret with you: your writing ispires me more and more, especially in this chapter.  I love your style (the way you use words and imagery) and I often try to capture that same feeling when I write.  So, thank you for your brilliance.

Draco is very, very fun to write in this story.  He's just a mass of conflicting emotions...he doesn't even know up from down anymore (hence one of the reasons for my chapter title...lol).  I'm glad you can appreciate him here.  He really isn't so bad.  :oP

I'm so happy you enjoyed the chapter, even with the big ole cliffie, but yeah we'll be back soon.  No writer's block here for now!  Yay so we'll hopefully see chapter 46 soon.  Thanks for your review, as always and your amazing compliments.  Always humbling.  :o)

Author's Response: Of course I will.  LOL  And yeah, poor Sev.  :o(
