Oh, I just don't think I can stand this! I do hope Remus isn't really dead. He just can't be, he just can't be...I'm going to keep saying that over and over til it's true.

I'm so confused about the Malfoys and what they're game is...which is of course what you want us to wonder. Of course it looks bad right now, with them bringing the Death Eaters so early...but I suppose it is also possible that there is some extenuating circumstance. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see about them. But if they are traitors...no fate is too bad for them!

I loved how Severus kept reassuring Harry, and how he switched places, or minds, with him to spare Harry from suffering, but I sure hope he wasn't really feeling it, either. How awful for both of them.

They both have courage in spades, too! I'm so proud of them, even while I'm terrified for them. I guess this is do or die time for the Charm. I sure hope it all works out!

    Author's Response:

    Poor Remus...

Well, the Malfoys have issues....  :oP

Do or die...yep.  And yes, these are both very courageous men.  I love them!  Thanks for all the review, Kristeh!  Glad you got caught up.

*snickers* I know what it's like to be obsessed as well. And thanks for the compliment on my nick--it's been awhile since I was at the group. I do enjoy your cliffies by the way...because I know I shall I not be disappointed next chapter. You build suspense then deliver it. Cliffhangers are only extremely annoying when the author leaves one and never updates or doesn't for an extremely long time. So--you are out of that category. I just know something....cataclysmic is going to happen next chapter.

Author's Response: Glad you like cliffies, because another is coming your way.  Hee hee.  Cataclysmic indeed.  Glad we can be obsessed together.  :oD

So, I'm sitting here...in front of a group of seventeen year olds, eyes filled with tears...while they sit and watch HP5 and complain to each other with morse code of the eyes about unjust 'busy work'. Oh, well...at least their quiet. LOL.

This was...this was....intense, and beautiful and poignant and I'm an incredible emotional wreck right now. I have never...NEVER...read a scene so chilling involving Voldemort, yet I still have that warm feeling in my chest thinking about everything that Severus did for Harry. He took his place. I can't think of a single more devotional act of love between a father and son. And good God, the way you described everything in this chapter. Left me with chills up and down my arms throughout the whole chapter:

"Wild hair, with cheeks starkly jutting out, so far that they were almost breaking through the sallow skin."

    *chills*

"Harry remembered Lily as she told him she was pregnant. Severus cringed as Uncle Vernon’s red face puffed while he screeched into his face. They cried together as Sirius fell away from them through the veil.

The scorching began to subside as the flames untangled their fingers. The storm began to quake in panic. Harry couldn’t find himself. He could no longer feel the pain of Voldemort’s unforgivable."

**Blast you, Tabitha...I teared up just copying that...lol. They're so entwined in everything that it was so painful to read about their fingers untangling.

And then the last three lines. Such poetry. ...here come the chills again. Those lines are going to stay with me all day. Thank god I get off at 12:30 today, because I can't wait to go home and reread this again...on my own...without the beady eyes of adolescents burning into me...lol. I'm a bad teacher.

But you're brilliant. Do you realize this? Utterly brilliant. This chapter was so beautiful..and it sounds awful...but Remus just wouldn't have fit.

    Such an exceptional story.

    Author's Response:

LOL  Morse code eyes.  I love that even your reviews are a little story.  I'm so happy you enjoyed the chapter, even reading it in front of your crazy high schoolers.  I had a lot of fun writing Voldemort and Bellatrix. They are just the right amount of evil.  Lucius is a lot harder as I see him with many many more layer than the other two.  Harry is very lucky, isn't he?  They are devoted to each other.  They have come so far and I just love writing it.  I really do.  I'm glad you felt the chapter and got the chills.  Makes me so excited!

Poor Harry and Severus have issues.  LOL  Hopefully they'll find some peace wherever they've gone.  I'm really really glad you liked those last lines as I was originally going to make the chapter longer but I just HAD to stop at those lines.  They wer too fun.  :oP

And you know what Jade, I love that you got the whole Remus thing.  He wouldn't have fit.  It all started with Severus and Lily and now it ends with Severus and their son.  They came as two and went out as two.  I LOVE that you got that.  Sorry, Remus but you didn't belong here.  It was all about father and son and what they had to do together.  On their own.  Yay Jade!  *jumps up and down with excitement*

Thanks so much Jade for your review. I love 'em, as you know.  :oD

Everything is starting to come full cicle. Evil, Evil--cliffy, Tabitha.. I am not exactly thrilled with the pale, pointed faced, inbred, platinum-haired twits either. It would be adequate justice if they get were sucked along with ol'-he-who-is-a-homocidal-snake-bast*** *instead* of Harry and Severus. *sniffs* Severus' devotion to Harry and viceversa have been bringing tears to my eyes. I think maybe after this is over (and they *hopefully survive*)--Harry can tease him about his *Gryffindorish tendencies*. It would be really awesome if Harry could genetically look the way he was supposed to, but that ain't happening. (I am so curious as to what he would have looked like..lol) I hope Professor Lupin isn't actually dead. *lip quivers*

Author's Response: Full circle.  Yep.  ;o)  I know it was an evil cliffie, but I am really starting to become quite fond of cliffies.  *shrug*  Well, Lucius and Draco are no angels, that's for sure.  Poor stupid Malfoys.  LOL  Harry would definitely have a lot of reason to tease Severus about being a Gryffindor.  Hee hee.  I'm glad though that you are enjoying the devotion these two guys have for each other.  I adore them.  I just love writing them.  I think it would be awesome as well if Harry could look the way he was meant to look but really I think he looks more like Severus than people initally think.  Sure he's got the glasses and messy James hair, but Severus has black hair as well so hey...  I know I sound like a nut, but Cathy and I have spent lots of time discussing how our boys have similarities (yep, we're obsessed).  Poor Remus.  I love that werewolf.  Thanks so much for your review.  I love your screen name by the way.  It's awesome.  :o)

This will no doubt be my shortest review in the history of Lily's Charm. My brilliant twin from the other space and time continuum did all the work for me and listed all my concerns so I don't have to do it. Whew...it would have been major typing.

I hate the Malfoys from the depths of my soul, whether they are pretending or not. I just do.

I'm still in denial over my boys meeting their end. "Sticking my fingers in my ears chanting lalalala" kind of denial.

But what I didn't say before was how much I ADORED, ADORED, ADORED (get the hint I liked it alot?) how Severus kept calming Harry. Time and time again, his flame spoke to Harry's storm to calm, reassure and give him strength. I loved it. Amidst all the tension filled adrenaline I had running (and which continued to run for a LONG time afterward, that part made me a goo puddle. Sev gets the "Dad of the Year" award for standing up to Voldy and switching minds with Harry to keep him from being tortured. Sigh....I love my boys.

I had to give me the hug afterward. I couldn't figure out where the boys went to give it to either of them. And if Remus IS dead, well, I'm not hugging a dead (nevermind).

I'm giving thought to submitting my application for your evil sidekick. I might be able to pull it off. *shrug* I need every other Thursday off though...

    Author's Response:

Well, as I have been forcing you to do my evil (erm...I mean...important) work for me...I'll forgive your short review.  ;o)  And you're right.  PK said it all anyways, so there's really nothing left to say.

Awww...no love for Malfoys.  So sad.

I'm chanting right along with you sister!  "LA LA LA"

I'm so happy (can dark Queens be happy?) that you loved Severus and his gentle ways.  Yeah, yeah Sev, I said gentle.  *shakes head*  He does deserved a Dad of the Year Award and no way was he about to let Harry get tortured.  NO WAY!

I love that you gave yourself your hug.  ROFLMBO   Hee hee.  Yeah you don't want to be hugging no dead guys (no matter how much they smolder).

Yes, do submit your application.  Thursdays...hmmmm...  Now back to work with you! *aims wand for another Crucio*

Ok, let me start off by cursing to the fiery depths of hell my professors for delaying my chances to review, (but don't worry, I have a feeling it's going to be a doosey) as well as your new husband...but with any luck he'll be there because of Harry and Sev next chapter. Which was great, by the way, but I've got a few questions...

What is your reasoning for having Remus die? I know there's a good one and I just hope that you can divulge sooner rather than later. I have my own suspicions and beliefs (really wishes) but I don't think they're adequate. And I know there's a good reason coming from you because you 1.have a reason for everything, and 2.dislike J.K.'s reasons, which were non-existent, for offing Remus and Tonks in canon. So, why?

At the end of the first paragraph (yes, I am being very picky) what does Sev's fascination with time have anything to do with what's going on right now? After the formalities are over with in response to the Malfoys, Severus is trying to bait them and get Voldie there...and it’s not like there was anything that they were waiting for...unless...was some kind of alarm set off in the Headmaster's office that would alert them (Dumbles or McGonagall) in the case of injury or death? (Was that the reason Remus had to die, but then why not Bill or Moody or Shacklebolt (if he was the third one there) and what happened to them anyway?) This could be why Sev is then talking about Dumbles and McGonagall later...that one of them was alive...were they also working on taking out the horcruxes? Or was this "soft warmth, nestled in the hollow at the base of his throat" a way for Sev to know that one of them was coming?

I would really like to believe that the Malfoy's little show was all a part of the over all plan...but I don't know if I can do that...Severus' reactions and emotional responses to what Lucius is saying are just too raw...he's fighting to hold back what he's feeling to comfort Harry. And he says that he will make the Malfoys pay for what they've done...defiantly not a part of the plan. Man, I'm thick sometimes. But then I go to this thought of Sev's, "It was too soon to be a ruse…" And I think that perhaps this was planed...I don't know. And then there's this too, "That had not been planned either," Sev's thinking about talking back to Lucius. You've thoroughly confused me. Thanks.

And it was Draco who tattled on the Order, too? Bad, stupid Draco, but I suppose it's a way to keep him on the Dark Lord's good side, so he wouldn't be injured just for an example.

Sev's "He needed to focus on the hate" rather than the love he was feeling for Harry at that moment too suggest that this was rehearsed. Again, I'm on the teeter totter from hell...oh, and it's your fault I'm swearing, too.

I adore Bellatrix, though. You wrote her well...

The effect she had on Harry was tangible as well, in stark contrast to these silly qualms I continue to make about the Malfoys and their loyalties...geez.

Question: what was the first time?, "His shield did its job once more" (repelled Bellatrix)...because it didn't stop Lucius, and he was the only one to approach them...or was it supposed to catch them off guard, like Sev didn't want the DE to know he erected a shield, it was meant to be a surprise for Voldie?

And what else did this warming in Sev's throat mean...there was some other plan in place that needed to be completed in order for Harry and Sev to complete the charm?...what Albus and Minerva were doing?...this is why Sev needed to stall for time?...because Albus and Minerva were destroying the other horcruxes while Harry and Sev were at the Riddle house to get the "last horcrux". Was there even a horcrux at the house? That's what the Malfoy's big jobs were, to bring the DE and Voldie jumping in all gangbusters on Harry and Sev catching them unawares to complete the prophecy. Ha. Does what I'm saying make sense to you? I think I got it...

It is an interesting spin to make Harry take over Sev's body. He truly is a father to him...it's almost sad. But, another question...did Harry and Sev need to say the other's lines to complete the charm as they were occupying the other's body?

And what the heck was going on with Voldie?...the only thing I can think of is that he found out the "it's a small world after all" ride was not functioning any more, as you two were planning to visit Disneyland the next day. Sad. But this really perplexes me...but whatever, it got him to come forward close enough to Harry and Sev for them to finish the charm, or to start finishing the charm.

    I hope they finished it.

I hope that Voldie is dead.

I hope Harry and Sev are still alive.

I hope that Remus isn't really dead.

I hope you have the sequel all planned out so you can update each week still.

I hope you can make sense of my ramblings at the beginning of this review where I was trying to figure everything out.

I hope you tell me if I was right or not.

Please? (I think this may be a record for length and unreadableness...that's gotta count for something, right?)

    Author's Response:

Well, here's my response:  (take notes people) You're a freaking genius!  Hmmmm    You pretty well caught all of what I was trying to make you ponder.  Now that's not to say you got it all right but I am vindicated!  The chapter wasn't total crap.  :oP

    1. Remus:  I have reasons for everything I do, especially things involving my beloved werewolf.

    2. Time is relevant because the Malfoys are way off schedule here.  Severus was supposed to contact the Malfoys when they were ready to meet Voldy and they are early.  And it is just a touch odd that they find them almost as soon as they begin their journey, isn't it now?  Timing is everything.  And this timing is ALL wrong.  Severus is waiting.  He wants as many Horcruxes as possible to be destroyed before they activate the Charm so Voldy's soul will be more brittle.  He needs Albus to destroy the Horcruxes he has and he's hoping for a signal.

    3. The soft warmth (which was the crystal around his neck glowing is not a signal that anyone is coming)

    4. Were the Malfoys putting on a show.  Severus' emotions were raw then but keep in mind, Lucius is early.  Things are not going to according to plan....

    5. Draco...well Draco has issues, I'll leave it at that.

    6. I adore Bellatrix as well.  Glad you enjoyed her.

    7. It didn't stop Lucius and isn't that interesting?  Hmm?  Indeed.  And no it was not meant to be a surprise for Voldy...

    8. Yes Dumbles was still looking for Horcruxes.  No time to waste people!

    9.  Lucius' job was to get Voldy to Sev and Harry when he was contacted by Sev.  But something went very wrong.

    10.   They both had to chant the same line, "Anima Expulsum" (Banish the soul)

    11. ROFL  about Voldy.  But no, something caused him to feel a sense of loss...a sense of grief.  And Voldy really can't feel that way.  And yes it was enough to make him furious for a second, forgetting himself.  Even more so than losing the prophecy made him angry...

    12.  Keep in mind, the title of this chapter was "connections" and the tagline was "And then there was one" and keep in mind the obsession with Time.   The rest, well you'll have to either fill in the blanks or wait patiently. :oP

    13.  Yes, the sequel is all planned out and even I am a bit astounded at where I've decided to go with this.  *shrugs in a self-deprecating manner*

Thanks for being a freaking genius and rocking this review, PK!  *loves*

OMG! You killed Remus!!! Poor wolf!

Otherwise this was a brilliant chapter. Loved how you did Voldy and Sev and Harry's confrontation. it sent chills down my spine! Is he dead??? He'd better be! Or else I'll come after you . . .with Remus's ghost.

FYI, I've updated too, with a cliffie no less!

    Author's Response:

Ewww...with Remus' ghost?  Well, that's just creepy.  brrrr

Glad you enjoyed the creepy Voldy. l just a love a creepy Voldy.  :oP
