Reviews For Lily's Charm
It was nice to see the beginnings of a better relationship between Harry and Severus, though of course, it's got a very long way to go still. And loved Severus' reaction to seeing Umbridge's scar on Harry's hand. I too agree with your Author's Notes, though I think I prefer Snape as guardian or mentor, or adoption fics to him being Harry's blood father. But I enjoy any well-written Harry and Snape story, and yours is very well-written! Author's Response: Hmmm...I don't know which type I prefer. I have read some really awesome adoption and mentor ficts. But, I also love the idea of Snape and Lily together because it was just so sad that Snape had to endure all those years of being in love with her and it was never returned. I was sucked in and fell in love with Snape. That's really why I chose to write this story. I don't usually enjoy the Severitus stories as much where Snape just sort of happened to be Harry's father, without any Lily feelings involved, although I have read a couple that are good. Anyways, enough of my inane ramblings.... :) I'm glad you liked the scar scene...totally inspired from watching OOTP the other night. Remus is the best, isn't he? I think I've got myself a love triangle with Remus and Snape. LOL Yep, these two still have a long way to go. YAY. Thanks for reviewing!

Then I see the chapter title ("Nudges from Remus") and I start giggling and actually say out loud, "Oh, THIS is going to be fun!" (And realize I'm talking out loud to my computer and wondering what that says about me. Hmmm...) I've forgotten to put a new box of tissues on my computer desk, but that's okay since I didn't need them for this chapter. Not that this wasn't incredibly fun to read because I LOVE, love, love Severus and Remus conversations. I just adore that werewolf and how he never rises to Severus' level in the temper department, but dang! That man can deliver a verbal 1-2-3 punch in the calmest manner. I've always wished I could do that. And boy, he delivered quite a few great lines. My two favorites: “He deserves better from you.” and.... “And you do not go far enough,” Ouch! After that section of this chapter I have visions of the old "Pinky and the Brain" cartoons where Pinky tells Brain, "Brain, you've got a spot of fire on your head." [And if you've never seen those cartoons you'll have no idea what I'm talking about, but if you have....you'll get it. ;-) ] And Remus wasn't going to back away from his relationship with Harry no matter what Severus says. I sure wish the books had done more with Remus this way. And one itsy, bitsy, tiny baby step was taken today in reaching across the football size chasm of that wonder we call a "relationship" today at the end of class. Snape's anger at Umbridge's torture was perfect. And letting Harry rebrew that potion? Wow!! A baby step indeed. I agree that Harry would do anything (even give Snape a chance) to have a family. And how the heck do you even have time to write these wonderful chapters at the holidays? I bow in amazement, oh wonderful writer! Can't wait for more! Author's Response: Okay, well, I'm pretty sure your review was much more hilarious than my chapter. I am still chuckling. LOL I too love that title. Because, oh Remus is just the most fun to write. I love him! I enjoyed his nasty comments to Severus that were really below the belt but it was totally calculated on Remus' part. Love it. And, yes my husband and I are big Pinky and the Brain fans so now I'm ROFL hysterically. My husband actualy had a teacher in high school named Mrs. Brain, so his friends and he would always say, "Narf!" to her and "What we gonna do today, Brain?" Okay, they were dorks, but it still makes me giggle. I'm glad you liked the chapter even without it being a tear-jerker. It was more an anger fest from Severus and a time of pondering for Harry. Baby steps indeed. And, Severus is up next to continue on with Harry staying after to brew the potion, so that should be fun and we'll get to see why Severus did take the little step. Well, I think we already know [whisper, whisper...check the title again]. :) I already finished all my shopping so I am not too stressed, although this chapter did take a bit longer than has been usual because i've been making preparation for our church Christmas party tomorrow. I'm on the activities commitee so I have been sort of swamped of late, but I'm also so obsessed with this story that I'm gonna make time for it, even if instead of dinner tomorrow night, they all get copies of my story! Author's Response: Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it, even without loving Severitus. I love them myself and that's actually how I got hooked on fanfiction. The next chapter should be up in a few days!
I love the fact that Snape is feeling a bit jealous of Remus, as well he should. Remus is really the only adult that seems to care for Harry because he's Harry, not James Potter's son, Lily Potter's son or 'The Boy Who Lived.' He seems to have an unconditional love for Harry. The sad thing is that I'm sure Snape had that same unconditional love for Harry at one point, too, but he threw it all away in bitterness. So, so sad. I bought the OoTP DVD today, but I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. My son had a basketball game out of town, so I got home to late to watch it. Plus, my kids would have been mad if I had watched it without them. I work the next two nights, so I guess I'll have to wait until Friday night to watch it. Dang it! Thanks so mch for the chapter. Take care... Author's Response: Thanks for reviewing! I'm glad you like my 'floundering' Snape. He's fun, isn't he? Remus is awesome. I always loved him in in the books and wished JKR had done more with the character. He does care so much for Harry and I think that is one of the things that will help Snape to start to feel something for Harry again. Jealousy is powerful and not always in a bad way, I think. The movie was awesome! I had so much fun, but I actually had to stop it a few times to jot down some ideas for the story as it inspired me so much. LOL And, now I want to write a Sirius/Harry story. They had me in tears. The next chapter should be up up tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy.
I must say that I agree with cathyrf, Severus did need a few good smacks to the head. But I agree that he's trying with Harry. I did like seeing him come to the realization that Harry's the same person as the baby he held all those years ago. That at least stopped me from throwing my laptop at the wall! I can't wait to see them actually talk about their relation, though. But it's good that it's all agnsty-it's the best!! You kept them both really in character here too, Severus being all snarky and sarcastic; Harry needing to dredge up some Gryffindor courage to ask about Snape staying in the infirmary all night. It was great to hear Harry talk to Ginny too...who of course knows what's going on without him telling her the whole truth. It's great that they're close, I feel that she's going to be Harry's major pillar of support. Hermione and Ron...well, that quidditch match was certainly interesting, as well as Hermoine's cushioning charm...a little too enthusiastic! I love it!! Remus...he's turned out to be a great character. I do love how he's sticking up and watching out for Harry. He's so protective, it's adorable! I just hope that he and Severus can come to an understanding (maybe not actually be friends, because while I believe that Harry and Snape can overcome their past, I don't really think that Snape and Lupin will all of a sudden be best mates) that they're both trying to protect the same person. But, that's for later. I'm also expecting more light to be brought to the issue of Dumbledore...hehe. What else...I'm really looking forward to seeing Severus beat himself up after his little confrontaition with Harry. And he was doing soo good in the dungeons, albeit alone, with his feelings!! But, it wouldn't make sense for Harry to suddenly feel comfortable around Severus, and for Severus to suddenly proclaim his love for Harry. You've got them in character perfectly and it's brilliant. Until next chapter! (Don't watch too much OotP, set some time aside to write too!) Author's Response: Okay, okay...I finally turned off the TV (after watching the whole movie and then all the extras too...I was really annoyed BTW that they didn't include the scene with Ron and Harry at the end...it was rather sweet...have you seen it?) and now I've written two more pages, just for all of you. I was so incredibly inspired by the movie. I guess I already knew it before but it really stroke me with some of the lines how much Harry would do for a chance for a family. I was kind of in awe and it really gave me some great ideas for the story. So, it wasn't totally wasted time, right? lol I had to laugh at the image of you throwing your laptop.... I know Sev is an idiot, but he is trying, you're right. And, he'll figure all of this out soon enough...or at least enough to not leave Harry in a puddle on the floor next time. Glad you like the "enthusiastic" charm of Hermione's. I love that girl! I love Remus too and he's back in the next chapter, adorably protective. :) Remus and Snape do need to get to some kind of understanding since I'm sure Harry will want both of them in his life eventually. Wonder if Snape will realize that? Dumbledore...he's got a lot to get done before he can come back and perhaps explain himself....hee hee. Severus will keep working on his feelings. I think this Sev does understand things very well about feelings (much different from the Canon stories because our Sev was once very deeply loved and I think that changed him profoundly, even with all that happened). It is really hard NOT to make them just come together already but it's not very realistic that way I guess and I can't resist the angst! Next chapter should be up tomorrow or the next day. I just finished OOTP on DVD so I'm afraid I wasted this night away! But, I was incredibly inspired by it, so we'll all win, I guess! :o)

It's such a shame that they can't open up with one another, but after their history, that's expecting too much at this point, I suppose. Hopefully, they will be able to later on, though. I really like Remus here, too. It's good that he's here for Harry. I like Remus, but I couldn't help feeling annoyed with him in canon, as he pretty much abandoned Harry, imho. I'm glad he's doing a better job of being there for him in your story. Looking forward to more! Author's Response:
I totally agree with you! I loved Remus in the books too and was so annoyed when he didn't even show his face for a year and then Harry was so happy to see him at the beginning of book 5. Missed the boat a bit there, JKR.... Anyways, I'm so glad you enjoyed the chapter. It is so hard to write them not just talking, for real. But, Sev did at least try this time. Thanks for the compliments about their emotions. I love emotional Harry. Don't know why. He's just fun! Remus and Snape are up next. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for the review!

But, once I get to a really juicy stopping place, I get so excited to post it, that I just have to do it before I keep going on.
