Reviews For The Last Gift
Author's Response: Thank you ! Harry goes to a lot a trouble to behave like a normal cat, actually, that's not all natural to him ;-) I must admit that having a cat myself and working in a cat refuge helps a lot ! merci, et bon courage avec le français :-)
Author's Response: thank you, my translators are the best !
The end image you left us with was lovely, Snape with the cat curled in asleep in his arms, his pet, but he's acting now with the knowledge that the cat is actually Harry, he can't see him as just 'the cat' any longer no matter how much he tries. Although you get the feeling that he thinks his life would be a lot less complicated if the cat remained the cat- screw the world- I think he wants a companion just one who can't speak back. Oh you can almost feel the heat of the twinkle of mischief in Dumbledore's eye... you just know he wants to put them together and the cogs in his mind are trying to work out a tenable way to do it. Oh i do like your Dumbledore, he seems right, not too over bearing, malicious or callous but the benevolent old grandfather i always pictured him as. Can't wait for the next update. Cecilia. Author's Response: Oh yes, Snape is very stubborn indeed, it takes some devious way to make him actually change his mind :-) Poor Harry is not over with humiliating situations, trust me ;-) Both thoe too can't really pretend that nothing happened, nor do they want to ! It happened at some special time for both of them, and they really do understand somehow that they need each other... though it will not be easy to keep ! Dumbledore is actually a problem for me to keep IC, and I might be over the line sometimes, making him too emotional, but he will have a big part to play in this story, indeed ! Thank you for the nice review ;-)
On a brighter note, I am really happy you updated! I saw you're update in my story alerts and it really brightened my day :) Poor Snape, he misses having his kitty :(. I can imagine how lost he must feel after 'losing' his pet. Dumbledore certainly had to face a harsh reality when Snape told him abut the Dursleys, talk about a complicated conversation. I'm glad Harry's injuries are a little better, since they aren't bleeding after the transformation. It's also good that he managed to remember whom he is and what has been going on these past days. Poor Harry feels both mortified and longing for the time he spent as Shadow with Snape. I loved reading the scenes where Snape was interacting with Shadow! They were so touching. I think Shadow's trust of Snape is really sweet. Poor Harry was really suffering with Voldemort, but Snape helped him out. It was a really great, emotional scene where Snape held Shadow, I loved it! So cute ^^. Poor Snape is worried for Harry/Shadow though, and that's sad. Though Dumbledore disserves Snape to be ticked off at him, hopefully he wont hold a grudge for long. After all, Dumbledore IS human, and humans have their flaws. It really sucks though that Voldemort called, grrr! Hope Snape come back alright and that Shadow will be too while he’s gone! Please post again as soon as you can! Not only do I want to find out what happens next, but I truly enjoy reading this story in general. I know I’ve said this before, but I LOVE your story! It can be described in a word; brilliant! I’ll be keeping an eye out for your next chapter, glad this one got translated so I could read it :D. Author's Response: Thank you very much ;-) Yes, Snape is already missing the dungeon-kitten, that's understandable really, as the cat was basically the most supportive creature around him lately ! And well, it's easier for someone so proud to be affectionate toward a pet than a human ! Well I can already tell you that Shadow will have to go back at the Manor at some point, and that there will be a lot more interactions between them ;-)
Harry os physically better now, but mentaly, he has a long way to go ! And the confusion between the two forms is not going to help ! Dumbledore, to my opinion, is a nice man doing a lot of misakes because he thinks he now what is best for everyone, and for ' the gretteast good'. Well, another spoiler, he is not over with mistakes, far from it ! and unfortunately that will be the the detriment of others... I guess you can guess who ;-)
Can#t wait for new updates. Cecilia. Author's Response: thank you very much, I can't tell when the next update will be but with some luck, soon enough *handles chocolate frogs to Claire and RaeWhit* ;-)
I have such mixed feelings for Dumbledore. I'm very angry and upset with him for leaving Harry with the Dursleys and not protecting him. I still think Harry could have been raised safely at Hogwarts or somewhere else. But I do feel a little sorry for him as he seems so broken. But still, he could have done more for Harry. I loved how protective Severus was when Voldemort invaded Harry's mind, and how quickly he grabbed 'Shadow' to comfort and protect him. And now Harry is aware of what's been going on, too. Should be interesting! You do realise, Keina, that you've got dozens of people all upset now that they can't read French! Including me! Author's Response: Thank you ! Dumbledore is getting a bit at a lost now with Shadow, but fortunately Snape is more ressourceful ;-) Yes, Dumbledore often takes things the wrong way, at least in my fic... Eheh, I hope you won't get bored before the end of the story or translation though, there is a long way to go yet ;-)
Is Severus going to quickly teach Harry to occlude? Like very quickly? good story. Author's Response: Actually, Snape intends to... but things are going to be pretty messed up real soon, as you will see !
its not perfect so you will need to edit it. Author's Response: Thank you, I know it but unfortunately, the automatic translations are not really useful when it comes to texts, it's ok with vocabulary, but it really makes everythin very confusing when it comes to a full text!
Author's Response: Thank you, I know what you mean, I took Spanish as second language at school ( latin in third, if I had know it would be helpful for fanfic some day, i would have applied better! ) and now I can't understand a single sentence ! Good thing I kept up with English though ;-)
Author's Response: thank you, it's on the way ;-) |
