Reviews For Never Say Remember
The wedding is such a touching scene. It should have been a time of absolute joy, yet... The idea of the photograph project is excellent. There's no way that Snape will ever take the initiative to do something about Harry, but conning him into it was a great idea. There are only two Legilimens available to Harry, and obviously Dumbledore is busy, so who left but Snape? (Well, I suppose you could ask Voldemort, if it is truly a project to die for.) And Harry is so sneaky... Wonderful chapter. I can't wait for more. Author's Response: And dear Lily, helping Severus through the ceremony. The Statua frame was also an explanation for why so many photographs line the walls of the AU Snape home. Harry wants his memories--and himself--to be more real to his mum. And he found an answer in memory photographs.
Can't wait to find out what the other Harry is up to. Author's Response: Thanks! I was worried it would be seen as out of character for Snape, but emotions run high at these sorts of ceremonies. And some of the vows were bound to affect him.
Author's Response: You're welcome! Severus and Lily's wedding was based on an adult baptism I went to where nearly that exact thing happened. The person broke down, and their friend stood up and read their speech for them. I liked seeing someone break ceremony decorum and help out their loved one.
Author's Response: Thanks!
Author's Response: This Harry has wily ways. :) This section of the story has some of my favorite chapters. Glad you're enjoying them.
" I was raised by a Slytherin." Love. But this Severus will learn to love this Harry. I hope the other Harry changes too. Love this story. Oh, and thanks for the label of which universe, although I noticed early on that the AU had numbers and the Harry universe had names. Author's Response: Yes, this Harry understands the finer points of blackmail vs. bribery. And how to attack Muggles with paperclips. :D I tried the number/title technique for a while, but I got a few reviews stating that readers were still confused. And I take the politician's view that one letter represents 100 people (in this case, one review.) If two or three people were writing in to say they were confused, then probably a lot more were feeling that way and not telling me.
I had dreaded Other Harry's experience with the Dursley's and it seems it was for good reason. Although watching him trying to bluff was quite entertaining. Your description of the wedding was so beautifully and heartbreakingly vivid. Yet I must admit that Harry rubbing Snape's back and remembering the time he had to leave Snape sitting at the table all alone were the most powerful scenes for me. Thank you for the update. Author's Response: The passwords were inspired by the bizarre description of Snape's home in HBP. Seriously, why DOES he need a secret entrance to every room in his house? I liked how Harry rubs his back but knows better than to suggest that Severus might be on the verge of tears. Harry leaving Snape alone at the table still gets to me. Just...the guilt, and Severus clearly feeling that he shouldn't be a barrier between his wife and son, even though it hurts him...so much angsty goodness. :)
Author's Response: No, I don't imagine the Dursleys were pleased about Harry disappearing in mid-air. Let's hope for Harry's sake that the password to the toilet is a short one. ;)
Author's Response: C'est un plaisir! I sometimes get teary-eyed or laugh when I read certain scenes, and I'm the one who wrote it! Then I feel a little silly. So it's good that I'm not the only one affected. :) |
