Reviews For Never Say Remember
Author's Response: Thank you! It was well worth the work. :)
Author's Response: But in a heartwarming way...? ;)
Ah. Yes. Very well done. Author's Response: :) Parts of this story have given voice to a younger self who still yearns for expression.
Author's Response: Thank you!
Author's Response: At least you're woman enough to admit it. :D
Author's Response: Each person in this mismatched family adds something to the whole, something that helps glue the whole family together. They've all struggled, they've all grown. :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts!
Author's Response: Since I started posting and editing, I've learned so much about writing something that's beautiful. Thanks so much for creating a site where I can develop as a writer!
Author's Response: Thank you! The ending is one of my favorite scenes. :)
Author's Response: Harry had never seen Lily like this, and was confused and frightened by what was happening to her. Understandably so. Thank you for waiting patiently and for posting a review!
I love how this Snape has softened toward Harry. It's taken a while, and it's actually frustrated me beyond belief to have to wait for it, but it was so incredibly worth it. And the ending scene in the garden was so serene and poignant. I still have a lump in my throat. You created so much more than just a simple gardening scene. I loved the allegorical implication about the scarred (or broken as I saw it) stems. That was brilliant and pertained so well to the overall theme of the story. Great job with that. I'm starting to sense that the two Harry's are meshing. And I'm so curious to see how this story will turn out. I've got a million questions flying through my head, but I trust that you'll resolve this lovely fic in your own unique way. I'm not sure what else to say but thank you for sharing. This is fantastic. Author's Response: Thank you! I do work hard to find the right words. Some of the best writing advice I've read is that you need to search within yourself to find the words that feel the most true. If you write what you feel is true, then there will be other people out there who will see it and respond to that truth. I think that's why some readers respond so emotionally to parts of the story; they're responding to something that is true for them, as well. I think that's a goal to strive for in any writing...even fanfiction. ;) I try to avoid excessive wordage. Sometimes I pare it down a little TOO much, and it gets confusing. But I don't want readers to try and find the good bits amid an avalanche of words. All the bits should be the good bits. This chapter contained one of the scenes that inspired the entire fic (the garden scene). When I was writing the rough draft of earlier chapters, I got a bit annoyed with these characters. "Reconcile, already!" I would tell them. But they wouldn't. Not until they were ready. They were very stubborn. :) But when they were finally ready, it was all the more beautiful because of the struggle they went through. |
