I feel like an idiot, I've cried so many times through this story ^^ it's so... gorgeous, it feels so much like you've written from the deepest corners of your mind and poured out your soul into this story, with the way it's written and the themes it explores in so much depth. It's so meaningful, like every sentence has to be there. It really is beautiful, I hope you continue soon ^-^

    Author's Response:

That's my job: making you feel like an idiot.  ;)   I do think good writing requires you to give everything you have.   Fortunately, the mind is a wonderful thing; the more you give, the more it has to offer.

Thank you for the lovely review.  You have amazing insights into how I work as a writer: "every sentence has to be there."  Yes, that's it exactly!  :)

Hope you enjoy the next chapter.

I don't mind being patient, but in the past year you have posted one chapter. This seems to contradict your earlier assurances about not having to worry about authors and shiny objects.

Author's Response: I'm not sure how to respond to this, so I'll direct you to Neil Gaiman's blog, where he answers a similar question much better than I could have.  He even throws in some very Snape-like sarcasm.  :)

Oh my word, this had me at the edge of my seat! Great job and I can't wait to read what comes next!!

Author's Response: Thank you!  :)  Still working on that next chapter...

This story is simply fantastic! I don't konw how I missed it. I scan this site and others nearly everyday looking for well written fics. I really enjoy all the different perspectives. A lot of the time I was depressed at how known world's Harry was treated despite the loving family he was dumped onto but it was resonable for someone who wasn't their child. I was so sad that he didn't get more time with them once he'd realized things. I'm highly anticipating the next chapter. Well done!

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  If you haven't already, try clicking on "all featured stories" on the home page.  There are lots of good stories there.

I'm glad you enjoy the different perspectives.  It was a new challenge for me to write different POVs.  Sorry it depressed you, but the main thing that interests me in interaction between Harry and Snape is the conflict--if they're all nicey-nice, I get bored.  ;)

I've been busy with moving recently, but I'm getting back to revising the next chapter--hopefully you won't have to wait too long.  :D

Ah, Malora... you did it again. Though there were parts of this that moved so rapidly the scenery became hard to picture, everything else was pretty much perfect. You nailed the way that Harry feels about Snape and his mother - and the very idea that he could have lost everything that had happened to him was the perfect axe to hang over the reader's head... what he's learned being the point of the story!

I cannot wait to see the reunion of canon!Snape and canon!Harry... more or less what I've been waiting for the whole series. Let me know if you still need beta-ing. :)

    -K

    Author's Response:

    Hi, Doll!

Sorry for the late reply.  I just moved, and my life has been consumed with things going in and out of boxes--many, many boxes.  Not to mention the never-ending scrubbing, all in the hopes of getting back a $200 cleaning deposit.

    Anyway, on to the fic:
I got similar critique on the first chapter of my novel--that it was hard to visualize.  Unfortunately, there's not too much in the writing books about that one.   I think one book on revising put it best--some authors are "taker-outers," and others are "putter-inners."  In other words, some authors throw everything into the rough draft and have to take out the filler in editing; others write a spare rough draft and have to put in more details in editing.  I'm definitely the latter, and sometimes I don't put in enough details.

I might take you up on beta-ing again.  I'll e-mail you.

So worth the wait!!!! Our Harry has grown and healed so much - and I ache for him having to leave all that he so recently found. I know that the other Harry will be fine - he has learned things as well in his stay in the world where there is no Lily. I am SO fearful for our Harry and Snape as they come to terms with what they have lost - I hope that what each of them has found will be enough. (I ran out of Kleenex while writing this comment, darn it!)

I will patiently wait as you update when you can - thank you so much for this beautiful story.

    Author's Response:

I wish I could send you some e-Kleenexes!  Here: IK  (a box of pop-up tissues!)

Thank you for your lovely review!

Wow, so much has happened! I need to just sit back and think for a moment, let it all sink in...

*a moment passes* I hope Severus can be saved! I'm assuming that if our Harry can get back to his world, that the 'other Harry' will be sent back to his world and can save Severus. If so, I really hope that it works.

Boy that was one epic battle! Those inferi are so disgusting and creepy *shudders* I'm so glad everyone made it away from them. It really was one heck of a chapter though and I love the way that you write things out so that I can so clearly picture everything in my mind.

I wonder what's going on in the other dimension (the 'normal' one) right now? Can't wait for the next chapter, hope it's posted soon :)

    Author's Response:

I removed some of the more graphic descriptions of the Inferi during editing—they were getting TOO disgusting!  :0

Thank you so much for the detailed review!

What a wonderful chapter! Thank you SO much for having updated! I love what you're doing with the characters, the two worlds, and again, I thank you for all your hard work!

Author's Response: You're welcome!  :D  And thank you for the review!

I am positively blown away by your use of descriptive language. This chapter was so vivid, it was nearly tangible. The way you describe the senses...tar in the back of Harry's throat as he "tasted" the dark magic in the air...his shallow breathing...the dirt smudges on his glasses... Stunning. It's obvious you put a great deal of time and tedious work into this story.

Author's Response: Yes…every time I'd think, "Oh, just post it—it's fine,"  I'd remember some detail I needed to add.  It's my gift and my curse.  ;)  Thank you for noting so many details in your review.  You always find something new and specific to say about each chapter, and I know that isn’t easy.  :)
