Great chapter and finally, Snape is beginning to feel the nigglings of something for Harry! Yay! Of course, he doesn't know what this is yet, but somewhere deep inside that cold black heart, he might be able to care. Yay again!

I really like how you've included Dudley so well in this chapter. It was hard to watch both Snape and Ginny see what Harry had to live in for 10 years...I felt so bad for both of them, especially Snape as maybe he's beginning to see how badly Harry really did have it.

I like Arthur's calming presence so much here, especially as Snape was sorta losing it enough that he couldn't even think straight.

I am really worried about Harry, going off on that Knight Bus. I love though that he is trying to go home. I just want to give that child a big squeeze and I am so intrigued about how Snape is going to be able to figure out where he is. I hope the two of them can at least start to see that there might be some hope for them, though I know it won't be as simple as all that. But I am waiting anxiously.

Oh, and I like Petunia's evilness here and Vernon. Not pleasant people at all. Ginny's fire was great here! Great again. I really liked this chapter a lot. It's one of my favorites, now that Snape is starting to clue in. LOL Thanks, Lesley!

    Author's Response:

    Thanks Tabitha.

I love getting complments from you when you tell such an excellent story.

Sev is certainly realising that there is a pinprick of grey in the black void that are his feelings for Harry. And yes, I agree, he will not stop fighting against the lure.

Arthur is one of my favourite characters and he has turned out exactly as I wanted him to. Somewhere in the past (Not sure which chapter) I mentioned that out of all the Order (except DD and Minerva) Arthur and Bill Weasley, and Kingsley were the members Sev could most tolerate.

It makes Sev more human to realise that he can lose his cool--but wouldn't he hate that!?

Our HArry is a real worry, lets face it. But he is not really thinking straight at the moment. He has to touch base--convince himself that he DID once have a mother and father in Lily and James--especially James. His whole world, such as it was, has been turned on its head.

Yes, the Dursley's are just full of the milk of human kindness aren't they. I enjoyed making Petunia the really evil one; Vernon usually does what he's told. It just emphasises the difference between her and Lily and points to just how upset the kind-hearted Lily would have been at the nastiness of her sister. Petunia must have really HATED Lily (and I think it would all be based on jealousy) to be able to treat her son with such comtempt and cruelty.

I'm very glad you enjoyed the chapter. A lot of people have said it is their favourite.

I hope I haven't set the bar too high for future offerings. lol.

'Talk to you when I review your next chapter. (can't wait)

    Lesley.

Please don't beg for reviews. You don't need to, because this is a very, very good story.

The characters seem to be excellently in character and I love the interaction between Harry and Snape. Snape's reaction to fatherhood was outstandingly funny. I should have reviewed that chapter when I read it, but I kept speed reading straight through to see what would happen next.

The only thing that squicks me a bit is the Ginny/Harry groping, and descriptions of her slender young nubileness. It's quite in character for teenagers, but I guess I share Snape's curmudgeonly-ness and find the details of teen love a bit… nauseating. Sorry.

But, that's a minor personal irritant to me and certainly won't stop me from reading the rest of your story. You have a good plot going and I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us in Godric's Hollow.

    Nice work!

    Author's Response:

Thanks for your kind word Emilie.

I am glad you think I shouldn't need to beg for reviews, but my plea has certainly had a positive result. I have had more than twice the number of reviews for this chapter as I have for any other.

I am sorry you don't care for the physical side of the romance, such as it has been but I want to be as realistic as possible. Don't worry though, it will never be a major feature of the story.

I hope I can continue to please you and I will update as soon as posible.

    Lesley

Excellent chapter! I particularly liked when Ginny sat in Harry's cupboard, imagining his perspective. I've never read of anyone doing that before - very sad and moving. . .a nice touch.

    Author's Response:

Hi there. I'm very glad that you enjoyed the chapter. I really enjoyed writing it.

Ginny sitting in the cupboard just felt like the sort of thing that she would do. She felt close to harry in there as well as she still hasn't gotten to see him.

Thanks for taking the time to review (again)

    Lesley
