I love ASD! Each chapter is better and better and I'm really enjoying seeing how Sev and Harry's relationship is developing.Your dialog is excellent and I like the way you get into the character's heads. I particularly like that you are having all your characters be human, not plaster saints or demons. I can tell that Sev and Harry are in for some rough spots just because Harry is a teenager and because of their past histories, but I have the feeling that it will all work out in the end. I am looking forward to seeing Ron's actions when Harry arrives at the burrow. I hope he'll be more like Arthur and less like Molly. Great work!

    Author's Response:

Thank you for your wonderful review. I am so glad that you like my writing enough to ompliment me like this. I really inspired me to continue to strive even though I am not finding writing easy at the moment.

Sev and HArry will continue to butt heads for the exact reasons you ahve mentioned and also becasue they have not yet spoken to each other about emotions. HArry is too quick to take exception, memories of Sev's past attitiude is difficult to let go of.

    Ron up next.

Oh wow. Thanks so much for updating. I enjoyed this so very much. I was so glad when Sev and Harry came to some sort of understanding, and now they're at odds again. GRRRR.....
But good for reading though. Please keep it up.

    Author's Response:

Thanks for another review. Yep, those two really do need to sit down and talk about emotions, I think.

Glad you enjoyed it, but sorry if you're frustrated.

I really love this series. You've managed to stay true to the characters while coming up with a believable chain of events.

Also- I too prefer long chapters and long stories. All my favorite stories are novels and long ones. Also remember that for the 6-7 who review, you've entertained 100 or so that are crap at writing back - myself included. :)

Looking forward to the next installment!

    Author's Response:

Well, for someone who is crap at writing back, you managed to express yourself quite eloquently. I don't want a novel when I beg for reviews. An 'I enjoyed it' would be very nice. But I do know what you mean. I sometimes have trouble thinking of what to write for a review.

Tnak you for this, BTW. And I am glad you like the longer chapters and stories. I seem incapable of cutting them back anyway.

Oh dear! Harry's not a happy camper right now. I really love this scene and the way you show Severus's conflict with his nature and doing what's best for Harry. Excellent! I can't wait to see how Ron reacts to Harry and if they fight it out! oh dearr!!

    Author's Response:

Thank you for your comments. Glad you enjoyed it.

    Ron coming up next chapter.

Very nice chapter. It was a good "reconciliation" scene between Severus and Molly. And of course the angst continues with Harry now feeling that Severus doesn't want him around. So sad for Severus since he is trying very hard to give Harry what he thinks he needs.
Anyway, excellent chapter. And I love LONG chapters!

    Author's Response:

Hi there. Good to hear from you. Glad you enjoyed it.

Sev and Harry will have their ups and downs for a while. Neither is good at wearing his heart on his sleeve, and until they can communicate on that level, misunderstandings will abound.

I have enjoyed your stories and I am sorry I haven't reveiwed. reveiwing is not something I like to do because I never feel I have anything better to say then "great story". However if you have put so much effort into writing this story and sharing then i can certainly take the time to tell you i enjoyed it.

    Author's Response:

Thank you for making this effort. I used to feel like you do until I started to write my own stories. But let me tell you, even a 'great story' is better than thinking your story is not being appreciated.

Lesley, I just found this wonderful story and it's taken me several days to read. I love how you've written the interaction between Harry and Severus and made it realistic.

I wish I had time to do a complete review, but I'm sure you understand how hectic real life can be.

I hope you can update as soon as RL permits.

    Donna

    Author's Response:

This feels like deja vu, Donna. I just answered your last reviw for Muggle. I am glad you found ASD. It is my first baby and, I think my favourite. HArd to decide. Certainly, it gets many more readers than Muggle, here and at fanfic.net.

And I know only too well how RL gets in the way and I appreciate the effort.

Well, I'm back from my trip abroad, and I was *very* tickled to find two new chapters up in ASD! Both were wonderful, and I too prefer long chapters. The only downside is that when people have a great deal of information to take in, it can become a bit difficult to comment on it all. But I love the longer chapters anyway!

Thanks, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

    Author's Response:

Good to see you back. Did you have a good time abroad.

Nice to see you reviewing again and thanks for your opinion on the chapter lengths.

How can people not like your story! It's the best :) poor Harry, I think he got the wrong idea again but I liked reading this as always :) Look forward to the next chapter.

    Author's Response:

Thank you, Natalie. Your review is much appreciated.

I would like to add my vote for long chapters and long well written and enjoyable stories. Your ASD defiantly qualifies as a story I would continue to read until its end and still feel like there should be more. I’m sorry to say that this my first review of your writing. I found this story when you had already posted a number of chapters and I spent several days playing catch up I got up to the current ones. I have never read a more unique reason why Snape is Harry’s father and I find I find it very intriguing and very plausible in the magic filled world of Harry Potter. My heart aches for both Snape and Harry as they try to find a sense of family and acceptance together and keep misreading each others signals. The 2 steps forward and 1 step backwards approach you have adopted is very frustrating in a good way. I want the happy ever after story but then it would be finished and I more don’t want the story to end.

Molly Weasley is going to have to do more than just apologize to Snape for her jumping to the wrong conclusion about his and Harry’s relationship. With Snape’s past history, I can see how he would conclude that his attempts at being “nice” will only be thrown back in his face and not bother to try. For Harry’s sake as well as his own, he needs to have people accept him as an ally and friend.

    Author's Response:

Thank you. This might be your first review, but it is a lovely one, and much appreciated. Another vote for the long chapters. Glad you like the premise as to why Sev is HArry's father. I dislike stories that vilify JAmes and/or Lily...or where Sev rapes Lily and HArry's looks change so drastically, he is no longer Harry Potter.

Yes, the battle will coninue as the two wizards do try to find a sense of family and acceptance. Sev knows how easily Harry has forgiven him, but somehow he is greateful for that, but also wary. That would mainly be due to guilt because he realises that his treatment in the past was actually unforgivable.

And yes, Molly is going to have to keep on trying to win Sev over. And Sev does want acceptance, but he doesn't really do very much to inspire trust or even liking. They both need to pull their heads in a little. Sev cannot just rely on his bravery as a spy to make other Order members accept him, especially when he goes out of his way to be unpleasant. Maybe Harry's presence in his life will bring about a change.
